I'm still having fun playing X-wing, but I admit that the lure of other games is starting to make me want to spend my time doing other games. I never was into 40k and trying the new version might be fun. There is also some Battlegroup that is always a hoot. I might even try the new Flames of War game. So many games out there and I've been slowly wanting to try other games.
Well, I am in

That doesn't mean the game is bad or I'm going to sell all my stuff in a huff, I'm just going to take a few weeks off.
Now, once Guns for Hire comes out... I'm gonna be the 5 Kihraxz guy!
I'm Kihraxz man all the way down but I want to run 3-4 fully upgraded Vaksais!! ![]()

All though living in a "big" city has its own benefits, but not always that size really matter either, because I used to live few years in Mexico City and now I'm back in my real home and have more active group than DF(short name for Mexico City).. They had more tournaments but here is better scene.
Yeah, i have a set up at home as well but most of my friends live out of town so it's a bit difficult to get everyone together regularly for games. There's not much of a local scene here either (although we did have a store championship in town last week, so hopefully that might change), so I have to travel.
I'm in, because I have a great group of 5-6 friends that play everything but the top 10 meta builds. We play Epic. Missions. Escalation. Design two lists and let your opponent get first choice between them. Blind draw squad builds. We proxy and share. We play John Williams themes (And the incredible Rogue 1 score) and drink IPAs and remind each other of our upgrades. I mean, just look at this monstrous epic build. If you can't have fun playing that...I just can't help you.

I went to casual day last sunday, threw together a mish mash 4 ship mindlink list in 10 mins when i got there. Got stomped by double scurrg then had a **** of a furball with the new imp criuse missile hotness which resulted in a loss by just 2 hull, loved the game as it was just all neat flying (there were only 2 bumps all match iirc and several manuvers from both sides that landed a bees phallic off a rock)
Had a ton of fun, would do again!!!

I love the positivity of this thread! Count me in!

Gimme my clever, stupid, situational jank! So that when I pull off that awful, ridiculous combo I can crow!

Played last night, the basics are fun. Friends only, no tryhards, no store stuff.
Most of the scenarios are pretty fun, if some are still luck based. For the most part, I'm passing on anything not in a movie. The game is called X-Wing....so I like to see X-wings in it.
7 hours ago, FTS Gecko said:To be honest, I've never not had fun playing X-Wing. I went 0-5 at a store championship, still enjoyed the day. Lost all but two of my games over two days at the European Championships, had a blast.
This is the single best tabletop miniatures game I've ever had the good fortune to play. It may not be perfectly balanced, but it's still light years ahead of most other games out there. I remember playing 40k and Fantasy Battle at Warhammer world, taking 30 minutes to set up then taking one look at my opponent's list across the table and knowing I was doomed before a dice had been rolled in anger. I've never seen that in this game; the opposite, in fact.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe - lists that have no right winning go on to shock everyone, players coming back from losing three quarters of their list in the opening exchange to win, attack shuttles on fire off the shoulder of Orion...
...erhem.
...but most of all, I've had fun. Even during my most crushing defeats or in the middle of my worst runs, I've never had a game which wasn't fun.
This!
I went 0-5 in my last store champs and one of those losses was to a 9 year old. I don't care! I have a blast each game I play. I am doing another store champ on Sat and don't care if I go 0-5 again. I got into this game to fly Dash Rendar and the Outrider and that is what I do. Thanks for the positive thread!

Whoa, only three years? And nearly 15,000 forum posts? That's about 5,000 posts a year, or roughly 13.6 posts a day...

Had to keep it PG. No telling the age of the readers and didn't want a warning on my record. Besides, gentlemen don't speak of such things on public forums.
Funny story, Warhammer 40k is good again... Just saying. Believe it or not.

I agree, however I am starting to be more sympathetic for those that want to leave and to be honest. I believe all the laser-brained nerf-herders calling for nerf and crying OP need to leave the game. However if the F.A.Q leak is to be believed (and I am very skeptical it is because it is literally taking a sledge hammer to the game), I can understand the need to leave or at the very least quit the 100 point competitive standard all together.
I'm definitely still in! Love the different ways to play x wing! Tired of 100/6? Well there's HOTAC! Not for you you say? Well buy a corvette and play some epic! Huge ships are huge fun! Or try Mario kart x wing, or single ship dogfight, or cinematic missions! Or make up your own missions. Then go back to 100/6 and start over again. (If you want to)
I'm in because it's Star Wars and FFG can never take that away even if they don't know how to exploit it.
And, it is actually a pretty good game.
Totally in. The only thing I'm out of is front page posts. This one being the exception and a breath of fresh air.

I'm not quitting yet. Also, it is possible to play more than one game system at a time.
Armada might be nice, but I don't have the cash to pay for a whole new system. I have a ton of 15mm minis. I might get to borrow a bunch of 40k stuff from Jbot.
I haven't played in a couple of months, but I am still in. Despite my scene being all competitive, this is what I built for the next time I get to play. The theme was they all had to have a similar wing shape. Also, I need to try a Tie Aggressor.

DUDE! Totally trying this one out. Sounds way fun. I usually have an anchor in my list, so I have used Kylo Ren (Rage, Inspiring Recruit, Pattern Analyzer, Title) + 4 Epsilons, but yours looks great. I've never put Epsilon Ace on the table before.

It takes a bit of getting used to - you havent the punch of a normal swarm with only 6 ships - but it's fun to use. Epsilon Ace is an awesome pocket ace. If you have an upsilon, give him targeting synchroniser, and you have essentially a 20 point, PS12 Shara Bey - great support for omega ace or leader, or getting focus/locked shots with a shuttle..

You're Reputation Points are at nearly 15,000, which just means that you post some quality stuff! You've got like a 2:1 reputation:post count, which is one of the better scores around these parts.
