Totally different games. The X-Wing series was a free roam space sim game. Rebel Assault 1 and 2 were on rails arcade shooters.

Rebel Assault was a just a rails shooter with a sprite in the foreground flying over pre-rendered backgrounds.

I used acrylic sheets and rods. Can get individual pieces quite cheap on ebay.
One thing to bear in mind before you base & paint, I saw one guy who lit his 3D printed Neb with LED engine glow and running lights.
I wish I'd thought of that beforehand! XD

Oooh good idea. I asked the guy to ship it unassembled but got no response. The Nicholas Sagan on is an actual kit that would be more conducive to lighting, but the 3D Russian one costed less. Dunno how I’d feel about sawing it apart and gutting it if it arrives in 1 piece. If nothing else, I can do the running lights in glow-in-the-dark paint as I did on my Pelta. (In daylight they just look white, which is fine)
Now my Rebels have two frigates and my Imps none. Hmmm...
