I wasn't expecting the focus on Glory. Phoenix might be even better at honor pressure than the other currently revealed clans considering they kind of need to keep honoring themselves to get full value out of some of these characters, and to protect against dishonor which seems pretty crippling to the Phoenix.

It makes sense their glory focus, as this gives them a way to win being the pacifists...

I'd have to imagine so. We've definitely got enough unknown cards still for it to be in there somewhere.

By my count, there is only 1 unknown Phoenix conflict card and it is most likely an event that costs between 0 and 1 (Card 177)

The Phoenix look amazing. The ring tricks look like they'd be great fun to play, too.

My money's on Asako Diplomat as the best card in the clan. Her cost is low and her effect is terrifying. I expect Crane and Lion decks to spend a lot of time running away from her because of what she can do to their precious high-Glory characters.

Overall, I really like the looks of Phoenix! Though, Serene Warrior shows us that not everyone in LCG Rokugan has figured out wearing kimonos yet. (Seriously, a warrior wearing long, flowing robes is questionable enough, but to wear them in a manner to make them even more flowing? <sigh>)

Hmm, no idea how I messed that up, then!

I forgot about Ishiken Initiate and Seeker Of Knowledge. So you can have 18 shugenja cards in the dynasty deck and 6 in the conflict deck. So even if you can't flop a dynasty shugenja you can hold onto one of your conflict characters to play when you need a spell effect. Seems good enough to me to start

Magnificent Kimono also belongs in a Lion deck.

I am keeping my mon as is, got to have someone repping pure spider, but I am so happy that Phoenix is tied with them today. Champ is beautiful [and that effect is exactly what I thought it was going to be. lol.], Glory theme was unexpected yet fits perfectly, and shows how they do their honor pressure. I can't wait to try them out, even if we are missing a bunch of stuff.

I see Serene Warrior wearing a kimono from the Kachiko line.
