Tie Punisher as a Fire Ship, or Brulote

By Hexdot, in X-Wing

Rebels flying a captured Punisher during a 500 pts Team Epic Play. Theme: Surprise Raid vs Imp Transports unloading troops from low orbit. 2 naked "Imperial" GR 75s and 2 Gozantis with only one upgrade (turret) representing cheap troop carrier vessels. Rebel superiority vs the small screen force during the first turns but never ending reinforcements starting Turn 3. Faceless Obsidian Ties plus long range turbolaser fire (off map Victory SD).

Imp player unaware about the true nature of the "Fire Ship". As an Action the Bomber's pilot can eject and start the automated mechanism. Free Boost after this and one Scape Pod placed on the mat. To hide the nature of the Fire Ship equiped with 2 dummy face down bombs and 2 dummy face down torps

Next turn automatic 3 straight. Roll 1D6. 1 left boost. 2-5 forward boost. 6 right boost. While on "auto" mode stress inmune. Then Ka booooom

Vs Targets within R1 3 Reds. Within R2 2 Reds. +1 Red if Large. +1 Automatic Crit if Huge. No Evade dices. Damaged both GRs and one Gozanti. Also minor damage against several fighters. Aided a lot damaging the transports prior to a fast run away.

Aa a sidenote the brave Rebel pilot died. Prior to being rescued by a YT 2400 one Tie Int Ace inflicted 2 hit and 2 crits vs a blank evade roll and vengeance.

If you feel creative try writing your own ideas. One fellow player wrote this and played as a referee in a 2 vs 2 play. And when your scenario feels good and fellow players gives you a smile... +1

House rules I presume? Well then it could be what ever it wants.

For example I used this as a fire ship (before the C-Roc came out)

again house rule epic.

Yep. House rules are habitual. Scenario Special rules plus many changes. TLTs +1 Green R3, face down ordnance, etc. The GR 75 Scum variant is one of the best ideas I found here. Perhaps one year ago we played one Scenario with a GR 75 Fire Ship.

From time to time I enjoy sharing ideas included in our games. Not because I think they are brilliant, simply because we had fun with them. Thanks a lot to all of you who upload your Upgrade and Pilot cards.

Haha! Those seem pretty fun.
