... can somebody post a picture of Quasars engine section, please - my model looks like as if the part where the engines should be is missing ...
My Quasars' Engine section looks like there are no engines at all

I don't have anything close up (as I don't own one yet)
But @LegionOfBOOM has some (albeit distant) ones on Instagram you could try a bit of zoom on.

Is this any help?

The hangars are where the engines themselves "should" be, which does look rather poor doesn't it. I'd have preferred to see the hangers along the centre line, facing outwards.

Aww ... I was wondering already ... prices go uphill while the model quality goes downhill ...
...............
This is why I prefer to buy in person and not online, so that I can carefully examine the model itself. It's saved me a couple of headaches over the years.

Eh, its not the worst I've seen.
Plus, its a totally free replacement. Not even Postage. Odds ar eyou'll get a full free model. Possibility includes a whole expansion pack.
Twice, I've had 1 Z-95 arrive with no guns... And not broken off, or at least, if they did break, it was pre-packaging, because they weren't there... And I'm still talking Armada Z, too. Not X-Wing.
One time, they sent a whole squadron as a replacement... The other time, a single Z-95.
So either way, you'll get at least what you're missing. For Free.
I bought it locally ... in an actual store with actual people ...

No Diff.
After working in the industry, I can say for all of the Faults, FFG and Asmodee are quick and efficient in replacing lost and damaged pieces, as long as you were not to blame... Genuine manufacturing errors and mistakes, they're **** quick to fix 'em.

I like to mod my ships and a mistake like this with a piece already removed is incredibly valuable to me. Would you be willing to part with it? Perhaps we can work out some sort of trade?

Let's wait for the replacement.

The base for mine had a broken leg on it. It took FFG about 5 days to get me a new one.

The longest I've waited was 17 days.
That also includes Postage to Canada, rather than, effectively, 2 day Shipping that's available in the States.
Fastest ship in the galaxy right there. Doesn't even need engines.
The Vic that came in my core set was missing the mount socket for the base. FFG sent me a full Vic to replace it, even though I'd have been happy with just the socket piece.
I've since picked up the socket piece from eBay and attached it, now have three Vics, but only cardboard/bases for two, so it's sort of frustrating, but it's a nice complaint to have.
I'll vouch for their CS group. Super quick to fix a problem. Both for X Wing (broken model) and Armada (mis-punched cardboard).

Just head on over to http://kdyards.com/index.php and print up a proxy base template. You can at least use it in casual games then. You can easily use a sheet of poster board or foam sheeting from your local craft store to glue it to, so it is the correct thickness.
