Combating Low/Jess/Biggs/Rex?

Because fair rebel has a pretty poor offensive output I would guess that a regeneration-centered list would work pretty well. Something like Corran+Miranda should be able to stay alive and kill biggs or Rex before time is called.

But, well.. that list will just die to anything else in the meta.

Actually it isn't that bad on offensive output. It's still 11-15 red dice. Jess is super accurate and wookie commando rerolls of eyes is a mini TL in a sense. That can work out very well.

True, but you'd need to get all arcs on target vs. two higher PS aces with repositioning to get those numbers. I havn't played it but my money would be on regen Poetensity (or PTL Corran)/Miranda vs rebel junkyard.

Out of curiosity, how would Ruthlessness Tractor Beam TIE/D Vessery with two Gamma Vets carrying Assault Missiles, Cruise Missiles, Extra Munitions, and Guidance Chips hold its own against this squad? Throw in Twin Ion Engines mk II and a 1pt EPT on the Bombers, and I feel you'd be able to do a ton of damage to this squad before it can really retaliate. Enough splash damage alone to wipe out Rex before he gets to fire, enough red dice to do some serious damage to one of the other ships, especially after Vessery lowers their agility by one, and high enough PS to reliably get target locks on this relatively low PS build.

I'm kind of leaning toward Adrenaline Rush on the Bombers. Sure, it's a one-off, but can you imagine doing a 5K, popping the Adrenaline Rush to get a target lock and fire off some Cruise Missiles after the initial pass? It could be devastating. Especially with Vessery dropping the opponent's agility with the Tractor Beam.

I would consider using crackshot. Tractor Biggs, then crackshot him when he uses Low on the Assault Missiles. If you are lucky and roll no crits, Biggs should be very close to death the first pass, and selflessness would be gone (they might not even uses selflessness if it resulted in 3+ hits as they would still absorb the extra 1 damage). If they don't selflessness, Biggs will most likely die. Then you can focus on Rex to remove his ability. Low is easy to out maneuver and without friends, Jess is just a T-70.

The biggest issue with running this list to beat Biggs and Co is it would be demolished against most other meta lists.

My plan is to actually use Cluster Mines and Minefield Mapper on Nym, force them to disrupt their formation to get past the asteroids and bombs and then hit them with Dengar and more mines.

Could try x 5 Cartel Spacers with ARC casters!

It's funny you mention Arc Casters- because if they weren't Scum and Rebels Only, TIE/D Defenders with Ruthlessness + Arc Casters would probably keep this list in check somewhat. One Vessery kitted out like that could drop some serious pain on these types of lists- especially because he out PS's the lot naturally. But alas, the Dev's hatred of the Imperial faction won't allow Imperials to get fun combos like that. It especially irks me because in the EU it was the Imperials who developed the Arc Caster in the first place.

I've thought briefly as well the only reason Arc Casters can't be used in Imp squads is to avoid the assault missile/arc caster Ruthlessness TIE/D combo. But really, would that be so bad :P

Considering it has easy counters, I would say it's not too bad. Just get your ships out of R1 of eachother- or better yet fly a blocker into tight quarters and force the Imp player to damage his own ships. But nah, that would be too cool and Star Wars-y for the Devs- god forbid Imps have any flavor or fun.
