Title for Shuttle that makes it an Assault Gun Boat?

It's cute that you think FFG actually takes the ship size as a decider for base size.

I think the U-Wing, the K-Wing, the ARC-170 and the Scurrg would like to have a word with you regarding hilarious base size decisions.

If it were to be done i'd guess at a large based pricier jumpmaster upgrade (swapping bombs and missiles for the crew, mech, and illicit) line with a bwings dial, oh and no elite slots because imps can't have nice things.

Matter of tastes, totally.

But in general, complaining because a Star Wars ships looks ridiculous is kind of absurd. Most Star Wars ships look ridiculous.

He is complaining because the Assault Gunboat actually looks functional and a ship that would exist in "real life", while most Star Wars other ships don't.

Except that the Assault Gunboat is of the size of the X-Wing. The ships you described are the "medium base", ships too large for the small base and too small for the large base, so they feel awkward in either one.

My bet is that they decide the base size not only attending to the size of the ship in lore, but also to the role of the ship in the game.

For a bomber is important to be able to maneuver around other ships without overlapping them or other obstacles all the time, since half of their bomb choices are action dependent. So small base.

Shuttles are expected to be clumsy and not so maneuverable, so large base. The U-wing fits this case, but it could have also worked as a small base. Perhaps in that case it wouldn't have been so utterly shadowed by the Auzituck.

The ARC-170 is a B-wing with double arc. It is already clumsy enough to add a large base on top of it. But I guess if the Firespray is large base, so could have been the ARC-170.
The Firespray is harder to explain, other than because of its hitpoint total been considered too much for a small base back in wave 2, perhaps?
The Aggressor (IG-88) is just to compensate for the good dial, hitpoint count and high agility.

TL;DR: I think they do take care into consideration the size of the ship in lore as one of the starting points during their process of design.
When they switch a ship to a base that doesn't seem to belong to regarding lore, it's mostly during their process of balancing their initial design.

What? No one called for heresy??

I'm sincerely dissapointed... :P

I vote yes for this. If for no other reason than that so many would quit in rage, and the forum and game would be better for it.

U-Wing is a troop transport. All the others you listed are fighters.

The model doesn't always match the base, sure, but the role of the ship does.

Gunboat is a fighter, not a transport.

It's nostaliga, if you were pc gaming in the early 90's it was part of a breakthough standard in flight sims, didn't matter if you were a Star wars fan or not.

If it's nostalgia that "didn't matter if you were a Star Wars fan or not" then I'm for it NOT needing to be in this game; it is not a flight simulator.
