Jake Farrell´s interactions with Jyn Erso

By DragonsRage, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I'm not sure how this works exactly so here are my Questions:

1) When Jake is assigned more than one focus token, due to Jyn Erso's Action, can he perform both, the boost and the barrel roll?

2) If 1 is possible, can Jake be assigned a second or third token, if he boosts/ barrel rolls into range 3 in the process?

For clarification here are my thoughts:

1st Option) Jyn Erso´s Action is used and Jake is in range 2. Jake gets all Focus tokens simultaneously, so he can perform 1 free action as written and gets all possible tokens.

2nd Option) Jyn Erso´s Action is used and Jake is in range 2. Each token is assigned one after another, so he can perform free actions as written for each token. The Range penalty isn't checked a second time, so he gets all possible tokens.

3rd Option) Jyn Erso´s Action is used and Jake is in range 2. Each token is assigned one after another, so he can perform free actions as written for each token. After an action he is in range 3 and because of that he cant be assigned the other tokens.

It is the second option. Game effects that assign multiple tokens assign them one at a time, triggering all effects on each one. If Soontir Fel uses Rage, for example, he would get three focus tokens. One from Rage and two more from the two stress and his pilot ability.

Similarly, Jake would be able to trigger his pilot ability off of each focus token he receives from Jyn. The check to see if he is a valid target is made only when Jyn is activated. After that, the full effects of the card resolve. Even if Jake would later become an invalid target that doesn't matter. The card is already resolving.

additionally, I believe he can only do each action (boost/barrel roll) once per round. If he does one as his own action, he cannot do it again when receiving tokens and vice versa.

Correct.

Also correct.

Thanks to all of u.

I already knew that he can't barrel roll or boost a second time. Therefore equipped him with Juke, so he can effectively use his Evade as an Action instead (because u really dont need to use focus anymore) to hit harder. With all those tokens and Agility 3 he is pretty resilent to enemy attacks. Well sadly he still dies easily to bombs (**** K-Wings), but with that much mobility it's harder to predict where he will go, so u can avoid some of them.
