Summon All StarVipers

By TheHumanHydra, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Denizens of the FFG forums,

Our new pilots are revealed. The hour of the brewing of StarViper lists is upon us.

I invite you to bring forth your StarViper lists in all their curvèd glory. The more StarVipers your list contains, the more likely it shall be heralded as the harbinger of our restoration.

Can these ships survive the current meta? If not, what is the best and/or most entertaining list you can come up with?

I will begin with some amusing jank.

Black Sun Assassin (28)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Advanced Proton Torpedoes (6)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

Advance to close range, link minds, and away torpedoes.

P.S. A big thanks to those who maintain Yet Another Squad Builder for always having new stuff in the builder so quickly.

i dont think you'll be able to get them off. I was thinking about mind linked guri and 3 linked fang fighters, though. had this in mind too just with out the Adv Torps. keep the viper builds coming : )

This looks fun:

Thweek (28)
Fire-Control System (2)
Ion Dischargers (2)
Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)
Virago (1)

Dalan Oberos (30)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

Guri (30)
Predator (3)
Advanced Proton Torpedoes (6)
Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

Total: 100

Triple Regen, Thweek can actually Ion someone at the end phase at range one with PRS. You could also put Guri in the Virago or Dalan.

Quad Regen:

Black Sun Enforcer (25)
Seismic Torpedo (2)
Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

Black Sun Enforcer (25)
Seismic Torpedo (2)
Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

Black Sun Enforcer (25)
Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

Black Sun Enforcer (25)
Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

Total: 100

Basically run with a ship that gets hit, regen, comeback into the fray. Rinse repeat.

Deadly Viper Assassination Squad

Black Sun Assassin (28)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Proton Torpedoes (4)
Autothrusters (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

Black Sun Assassin (28)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Proton Torpedoes (4)
Autothrusters (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

Guri (30)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Fire-Control System (2)
Cloaking Device (2)
Autothrusters (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)
Virago (1)

Total: 99

All the same PS for Mindlink. Swap out torpedoes to taste. Although I may like the Tarantino-borrowed name more than the squad itself. :)

Do Starvipers really want Mindlink? I'm thinking of how much Mindlink restricts the movement options of Brobots; wouldn't Starvipers be better off if they knew they can sloop?

Just a question, I have no experience flying them with the new titles at all, and little from before...

With matching PS, I think you should be able to get away with Mindlink. Funky barrel roll or boost with the first 2, sloop with the last.

I can't find another EPT I really like on the Assassins. It would be very different if you could put Fire Control System on them all. But as it is, 2 StarVipers will be the most I'd usually run -- a tooled up Guri (probably with Intensity) and either Thweek or a PS1 blocker with just the title and autothrusters.

And because I'm going to end up with at least 4 StarVipers (I really wish Guns for Hire came with 3 Vaksai titles so I could say 4 was definitely the limit)

Four Thweek Of July

Thweek (28)
Autothrusters (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

Black Sun Enforcer (25)
Autothrusters (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

Black Sun Enforcer (25)
Autothrusters (2)
StarViper Mk. II (-3)

For those of you without OCD, you should absolutely drop Autothrusters from one of the Enforcers to give Thweek Virago and Fire Control System. I just ... can't.
