If someone has multiple tickets in their own name for the Thursday Kiku Matsuri event, but wants to give one of them to a friend who wasn't able to get their own ticket, will that be a problem? Just to be clear, each individual will only be using ONE ticket, receiving ONE core set, will play in the Thursday event, and will NOT be selling any of what they receive (core set, promos, prizes, etc). Everything is above board, it's simply that one individual wasn't able to secure a ticket in their own name, one individual has two, and they don't want to take a chance on losing the second ticket by going through the GenCon system to drop the ticket and try to have the friend pick it up.
GenCon Kiku Matsuri - multiple tickets?
It will not be a problem, no. I've entered FFG tournaments with tickets that didn't have my name with no issue. After all, they allow you to purchase two tickets. It would be pretty absurd if you could buy two tickets but one was, automatically, useless.
I was under the impression that players without a ticket could still participate in the Kiku Matsuri, just not the tournament following it. Is this the case?

You can probably watch the procession/opening ceremonies with no problem (Encouraged even), you just don't get to participate or get cards/promos.

I feel sorry for the security that tries to clear out the blockade of people watching the event.... If people can watch the crowds could get massive!

The question was whether or not he could bring an extra person if he had the extra ticket.
Your best option will actually be to contact FFG directly using their customer support. They typically do not answer questions posted on their forums. We are all just speculating.
