GET HYPE FOR TALONCOBRA BANE!

SOoo no FAQ then

Thweek is indeed a incredible pilot ! The advantage of your opponent become your advantage ! Love the concept ! :)

Thweek is roughly as expected - copy the pilot ability OR PS value of an enemy ship. Oberos gets a super flexible dial, every other turn. SHame it's not every turn, like Ryad though :(

Ion Dischargers plus Feedback Array (on the Lancer) and Pulsed Ray Shields (on anyone else) seem solid.

Thweek sounds hella fun but super difficult to plan around, especially given his lack of EPT. Dalan seems solid.

E: oh, and the new generic is nice. Not convinced it's 2 points better than the BLack Sun Ace, but it's nice.

4-LOM crew and Ion Dischargers. Just stupid.

Is there an ion discharger+YT+Leebo/other self-ionizing combo?

I mean, the same argument could be made for basically anything. Then your opponent takes a single ion token and you can no longer use your dischargers. I'd soak that on a large base ship, to remove a 2 point upgrade fo rthe whole game.

Scum is now the reactionary faction. Looking pretty fun.

Thweek is going to give Scum their own Biggs lol

Interesting. Thweek represents something FFG have been very loathe to do - a pilot or upgrade that can be rendered effectively useless if your opponent brings the "wrong" list. Vs lower pilot skill generics, like Contracted Scouts or Deadeye Scurrgs, his ability is useless.

But basically he becomes more broken the more broken the list is that he opposes, which seems fun.

FEAR MINI-DENGAR!

Or Pulse Ray Shield Quickdraw...

The lack of an EPT on Thweek means no Mindlink and therefore probably not very much table time. I don't want to have to rely on my opponent to see if a third of my list will be effective or not.

Does this mean Gencon release?

It seems pretty unlikely that Thweek will ever be completely ineffective. The only cases he would be are when the opponent has all generics AND all lower PSes, which is basically just triple scouts right now.

Yeah - you're on the right track.

Scum will now have Jabba, Cikatro, Scavenger Crane, and Thweek. You can essentially make a list that morphs to your opponent. Not saying I see any really good combinations yet, but the direction of this subset of cards seems really fun and might have some po-po-potential.

If you are against a swarm or other low PS list, then you copy the pilot skill instead of an ability, and he becomes a flexible blocker for action denial. Take away the lock/focus from one or more of those missile carriers.

Eh not really

I mean it's ok, but let's not blow things out of proportion;

- It only works if your opponent has a ship at range 1

-- If your opponent's ship is a large base ship, they will take the ion token immediately, essentially suffering no penalty (unless you brought Dace Bonearm trololololol) and then you'll have to discard your ion dischargers

-- If your opponent wanted to do a 1 forward anyways, they'll still take the token (i.e. if they had a Pulsed Ray Shield ship that was going to recover a shield, or got an ion token during that combat round, they'll make you discard it, again for no penalty)

-4-LOM was already less effective than Zuckuss

-4-LOM could already be spammed over multiple attacks on consecutive rounds, assuming you have arc

Take the lower PS and block. Deny ordnance.

Still At the Printer so unless someone's been lax about updating the shipping statuses, releasing in time for GenCon in 3 weeks is highly unlikely. Maybe a limited release with a later general release though. I could certainly see that timeframe happening.

Didn't read the whole card, did not see the discard this at the end. Now it doesn't seem like its even worth 2 points.

No offense to you StarViper fans, but I didn't want to hear about Thweek before I got to see what that Harpoon Missile does!

Ion Dischargers are going to be really fun, though! Too bad you can't pair them with Feedback Array in a Z-95 swarm!

You guys are looking at Thweek the wrong way.

Shadowing makes sure you are the last ship to move in a turn as long as you have a larger bid than your opponent. Pretty bananas on a ship with curved rolls and advanced sensors.

Mimicking is something you use when you're more concerned with one of your opponent's abilities, which is something you will probably only use if you're a) able to seriously mess with your opponent by doing so or b) built your Thweek as a counter to a specific squadron that you are facing right now.

Those are some fun pilots. So, Ion Discharger + Pulsed Ray Shield on Guri sounds fun.
