I can confirm that the identity scanner is a role cop ability. I have one. But I don't think mine is one - shot. Or if it is, I wasn't told about it.
Speaking of which, anyone have any interesting items they're willing to trade for an identity scanner. Or spice. I don't judge.

This is a thing. All the claims so far have been well constructed, usually with actual flavor titles like Customs Officer and Demolitions Expert. I don't think I said mine but I'm the Mad Doctor.
Anyone who knows these players like Caldias or Cninj better, do you think they're capable (or likely if one were to assume scum) of false claiming well?

Frankly, with the flavor as strong as it is, I'd expect Biggs to give them fake claims that match the flavor.

Fair point. I suppose something like a "renegade customs officer" could be scum as well, and its much easier to just fakeclaim alignment.
Also Gnips has not actually fully claimed yet. I just looked through his posts and all he's done is allude to being "town". At this point his role would have to be super OP to be worth hiding, considering a couple power roles have already come out. Is he saying he's just vanilla townie? I'm also not sure about the balance of there being 1 townie. Does scum win when they kill him? If not then what's the point of there being a townie at all? He's also been asking for claims quite a bit which my gut says is fishy, but at this point all these claims having already been made makes that seem a little less weird. Still asking for everyone to reveal their secrets while not actually revealing himself feels off to me.

I totally believe Cal and I could come up with pseudo flavors. 
I cannot speak for him, but I didn't make mine up. But there is no way I can think of to prove that, unless that ID thing doesn't require traveling to my room.
Oh, and Biggs said this was not going to be balanced. That is why we are coming up with these crazy theories.

I pretty much haven't made any real votes this whole game besides a dumb one on mad so I'm just gonna start it off, I think Gnips is way more suspicious than Caldias

My win requires me to come up with 2 more items. While I'd like to make our so that all of us who survive can win, I'm going to look after my own win first. So trading the identity scanner is something that helps you and vics, as well as me. Just issuing it myself actively hurts me own ability to win, because if we find and kill all the scum before I trade 3 times, I lose
