There will be a slight adjustment to tournament structure because of the huge skew in entrants. NA is split into two, so we have 3 zones, rather than 2.

For each of the 3 time zone groups (Euro, NA:West and NA:East) there are 2 qualification slots (6 of the total 8):

• Players ranked 1st are directly qualified as number 1 in their group.
• Players ranked 2-5 will be randomly paired, then have about 1 week to play a game. The winner with THE HIGHEST POINT SCORE qualifies (normal tiebreakers) as number 2 in his group - so not only do you have to win, you have to win big.

Finally there are 2 wild card slots:

• The highest single MoV (normal tiebreakers) in a single game qualifies as number 1 in the wild card group.
• The second highest MoV (normal tiebreakers) in a single game qualifies as number 2 in the wild card group.

Final rounds Elimination format: Number 1 in each group gets paired with number 2 in one of the other groups, and so forth, giving this matchup scheme.

Also, there will be a maximum of 12 players per sub-zone. If more than 12 players want in on one sub-zone, then no, not happening.

Do you mean with highest total point score (counting the earlier rounds as well), or with the highest score out of this bonus round?

If it is the later (only this one match count) it sound a bit bad, if suddenly the 5th of the group is second, just because he won high in this bonus round.

Just image a group with: 1st: 25 points, 2nd: 25 points (less MOV), 3rd with 21 points, 4th with 20 points, 5th with 15 points.
And suddenly, just because of this bonus round, the 5th with a way lower score is second?
Or in worst case. One match could not be done (concede) and count only as 8.

Second question about the wild cards. What happen when there are 3 or more who had a MOV of 400 in a game?

The only thing that has been tweaked is the number of groups: 3 instead of 2, and by extension only the top spot automatically qualifies for elimination rounds (as opposed to the top 2). Then the 4 runners up (places 2-5, previously 3-6) duke it out in two elimination games, where only the winner with the highest score moves on to eliminations.

If there are more than 1 player with the same highest MoV (presumably 400), we need tiebreakers: then we'll use tourney points after 3 rounds Swiss. If they are equal we move to SoS.

So basically everyone wants in on the East Coast...

We are now in the very unfortunate situation that the NA:West group has 11 players.

Odd numbers are not good. They lead to byes. Byes leads to the dark side.
