Does this mean we get our a pairings early for being good little Admirals ( and so those heading to U.K. nationals have a bit more time)

Wait a spell. Maybe @thecactusman17 gets his game in after all.

Uh, I'm last, big question is if I can make the jump to 16

We should have a bonus battle for the Autumn 2017 Vassal Wooden Spoon. Best of the worst!

You only need a 10-1. How hard can it be? :)

Make the Prize a 10-1 victory to their credit.

After the fact of the new round being paired up, of course. So we can all giggle.

OK, @BrobaFett and I were able to squeeze in a game this morning after a bunch of confusion yesterday.

Cactus beats BrobaFett 7-4 with a 94 MOV. We played my Fighter Ambush.

My Decimators set up in a block formation docked on the station in the center of the board, and positioned to ensure that anyone trying to fly past to engage Valen Rudor would be engaged with a Decimator. Morna and the 3rd Decimator stood on the front line, preparing to engage yet completely obstructed so that no squadrons could pin them down. Valen, the TIE Fighter, and Col. Jendon stayed back so that anyone trying to attack them would have to fight through the entire ball of Decimators to do any harm.

My ships spread out across the north end of the field, planning to disperse or come together to avoid Broba's Avenger. My own Avenger set up to do an end run around the eastern side of the board, hoping to come in on top of his Victory from behind. However, this also meant that he was prepared to intercept a Star Destroyer coming in from the east. With my ships ready on the east, and my squadrons Ambushing from the middle, his ships were dsitributed evenly along the eastern side planning for a big push from that direction.

After burning down his squads, I found my Decimators in close proximity to his Slicer Tools. The Decimators chased down the Slicers and scored two points from hull, but didn't kill the slicers. They did force him to use the scatter though, leaving it open to Avenger blasting it out the side. My Avenger, on the other hand, started charging straight into the enemy Star Destroyers before pulling a nearly 180 degree turn with Jerjerrod, leaving the wall of Star Destroyers suddenly without a target and charging headlong into empty space that was about to rapidly fill up with Decimators. With discretion being the better part of valor, Broba's ships moved to escape to hyperspace with Morna and the two surviving Decimators closing in. We called the game midway through turn 5 when I determined that my Decimators wouldn't punch through the shields on either Destroyer and him unable mathematically to kill my own remaining squads before they could escape.

And as a special gift, I did the rarest of things: recorded a game log :P

I really enjoyed the game vs BrobaFett, and we were both glad to get it in before the official deadline on Wednesday. With a pair of schedules so awkward we can't even normally play our own countrymen, it was a minor miracle it happened at all!

Cactus, thanks for being an excellent opponent and opening up your day so we could get this done, even with my own interruption. The patience was very very much appreciated.

Cactus' overview is pretty much bang on. I knew that there was no way I could beat his Avenger and his squads with such a flimsy screen of my own and the sheer terror that unencumbered Decimators are to ships, so I deployed in such a way that the battle really had 2 parts so I could at very very least limit my losses and keep the game to a 7-4, which given how poorly my fleet was equipped to deal with Decimators I would consider a win. The squadron ball with my Gozanti's supporting with flak in the middle to tie up the Decimators and make them either kill the Gozanti's and waste turns not heading toward the Star Destroyers and their big buckets of points, or try and jump past the Gozanti's and eat their flak which hopefully would be enough to burn the high hull rogues down. Cactus opted to shoot the Gozanti's which I was fine with, and the plan worked in so far as by turn 5 it was apparent I had kept my ships far enough away from the squadron fight that they wouldn't be reached for any meaningful damage from the Decimators.

The other part of the battle looked to be going my way too early on, as Cactus' ISD was, in my mind, about to move into close range of my VSD and blue range of my ISD Avenger which would both lay into him and probably take him off the table (the VSD had boarding troopers too, so with the ISD-II behind the VSD its like getting two turns of boarding troopers for Avenger). I was at this moment before his ISD activated turn 3 pretty confident that I was looking at a game where I would kill the ISD, and limit my losses to squads and Gozantis. What I wasn't expecting was for Cactus to move his ISD from pointing directly into the front of arc of both my waiting Star Destroyers to pointing almost completely away. By the end of turn 4, the ISD was out of red range of my VSD and completely safe. It was some crazy JJ fueled maneuvering that made it apparent to ma I had lost the moment it occurred.

Expert play from a skilled opponent, and I would expect no less from a player of @thecactusman17's caliber. It made the game exciting to play despite being rather uneventful in terms of actual shooting.

After much asteroid and squadron shenanigans (as well as Demolisher bringing the pain) and two different disconnects, Paindemic over CaribbeanNinja 400-137. It seemed at first that everything was going to turn up Ninja, with Demo OE rerolling to easily kill both my CR90s, but then Defiance got angry and triangles burned. Logfile (brought to you by my awesome opponent CaribbeanNinja) will be arriving in the near future.

@moodswing5537 and I finished our delayed game. I wound up taking it, 239-88, and it all hinged on my 1 hull Avenger rocketing off into the sunset. He chose First Player and my Blockade Run, and we set up with his two MC30s across from Avenger, his squadron from my Raider, and his squadron pushers and flagship across from Devastator. His squadrons focused down the Raider, but that (and a few lucky wiffs) let Ciena and Valen wreck his Mustache Ride. His MC30s played footsie with the Avenger (neither side willing to be the first one to jump into close range) while the Devastator showed up in Transport Alley. Devastator blocked his flagship, popped both Transports, and the MC30s hit, damaged, and flew off from the Avenger. Then his flag ship double activated, almost bringing down Avenger, who limped away with 1 hull, allowing Devastator to finish Dodonna off. Luke bagged a wounded Ciena, and that was game.

TL:DR - @BiggsIRL 239 - 88 @moodswing5537

Great game. I won't blame my dice, but they didn't help either. Lots of good flying on both sides. I STILL need to figure out the mustache ride. Oh well, best of luck to @BiggsIRL.

See your first mistake Mood, was trying to use the mustache ride AGAINST the mustache ride...I'm surprised your own ships didn't start self-imploding.
