Edited by Green Knight@rasproteus and I played our game late into the night tonight. Having played a Lando-ECM-RBD-Akbar-Defiance in my first round, I had some practice. Parking a Hammerhead in the front arc of the defiance while the rest take positions to give them a shot. It took two turns of sustained fire from four Hammerheads to bring down the Defiance. His decked out Foresight also almost pulled off the one shot kill on my Assault Pelta with 3 reds, 2 blues, and 5 blacks, but the Structural crit left it with one hull left and a YT-1300 just out of range to finish the job.
I ended up winning 219-71 for a 148 MOV and 8-3 victory. It came down to the last turn, and it was a great game of fancy maneuvering and bursty Red damage. Kudos to rasproteous and thanks for the game.
Log tomorrow after I sleep. Here's the log file. ![]()

Dr Alex vs Gink will be on the 12th

It was a close game, with it coming down to 1 die roll in the end, which would have swung it his way. He forgot that the Station didn't obstruct, and so brought his Raider into range of my ISD. A double arc of rear+side at close range got 1 damage short of killing it, when he pulled a structural damage card, and boom went the Raider. Then, he just barely failed to kill my GSD - it was on 2 health, and his GSD front arc's red dice and 2 TIEs only managed to get 1 damage total on the shieldless hulk, which was evaded. By an unlucky maneuver, he was out of range of the station at the end of turn 6, and so missed getting the final token.
At first, I thought it likely that I would lose, for 1 GSD was killed before it could fire a shot, and another died before it could do anything effective. However, I think what aided in swinging the game in my favor (other than getting 5 tokens) was that during turn 4, I managed to bring the Gozanti down to 1 hull through ramming, and a Raider down to 1 through shooting at it during the ISD's activation. The Raider was at close range of the front arc of one GSD, which when it moved would ram the Gozanti. He chose to activate other ships before these two, and I managed to kill both in the same activation. Had he activated the Raider first, I feel that the GSD wouldn't have survived the game (for he would have shot at it), and the Raider itself may even have survived.
All in all it was a very fun game, and Doppelganger was a fun opponent. Given that this was only his 4th game of Armada ever, both in RL and on Vassal, I believe that he will become a pretty good player, given his level of play in this match. Granted, I'm not good enough myself to claim to be a judge, but he played well, and but for that 1 activation would have one the game, and could have won it regardless.
Logfiles:
I thought this match through afterward and if I had chosen to pull out my one hitpoint ties and didn't sent the Raider into his unfortunate doom (I think speed three would have gotten me a token and would have avoided double arc on the ISD II), I could have pulled this out. Alas, it was not meant to be, congrats to you
But I am always glad to learn and my mistakes will teach me valuable lessons. Very fun game and thanks for the kind words to you and to @BrobaFett

The Vassal World Cup 2018 should start shortly after this one is finished. Be there.

Live coverage needs a minimun level of legendary

Awesome i'll be on the lookout! Thanks
The Fight Dorrin314 vs Tokra is over. After a clash of the ISDs mine came out victorious with a MOV of 314 (so: Tokra won with a MOV of 314, in case i wrote it a bit complicated).
We were playing my Fire Lanes. And Dorrin could catch a few more tokens in the first turns. I really should take strategic in when i use this mission...
The first turn was already hard for him. He lost Valen and one defense token on the Demolisher. In the second turn we are slowly flying toward each other, but my squadrons could hammer his ships and do some good damage.
In the 3rd turn the Demo and the Raider died to some brutal ISD / Squadron power. But i placed myself in a bad position with my Avenger. Dorrins Avenger could come in really bad for me. But he had only one arc that could fire. But this attack (with Boarding Troopers) took my ISD down to 5 Hull. The counterattack from Squadrons and ISD (who got a bad Damaged Munitions crit...) could take down Dorrins ISD. It saved me 164 points not to loose my Avenger. The last two turns were only a little hunt for tokens.
In the end there was only one Raider left from Dorrin, and i lost one Gozanti. The Victory tokens were even on both sides (6 vs 6).
And for these who want to watch and not read: here is the link to the log

@Viktor Tanek vs. @Thrindal ends in a 345-272 slaughter. Thrindal wins a 7-4 (73 MOV). Station Assault was chosen and one station was blown up with the other left at 2 hull. The twin ISDs made quick work of my Arqs with some perfectly weighted shots. Good game, good opponent, I will look to secure the wooden spoon next game.

Good game, it was quite close. I think it was in turn 4 things changed, up till that point I thought you had me. Sloan was almost no help at all for me but turn 4 had a couple perfect shots and I think I took out 2 Arquitens and a Raider in one turn, maybe it was all 3 Arquitens and the Raider I'd have to look at the log. I just remember the Raider was a particularly lucky perfect shot. Excellent game and a lot of fun, I do need to familiarize myself with more of the hot keys however.

Not hinting that NA:W is the slowest group by far.
Well, most of those players requested a different zone...am I right? ![]()
JJs vs Maturin ended 333-95, so a 238 MoV victory for me.
It was a tense game from the start. The roll off game Maturin the choice, he chose second and I picked opening salvo. I was able to mainly avoid his Combat GR-75s, and some strong first player activations ended up knocking out a number of his ships before they would use their tokens. That and half points for his Admonition due to a hammerhead ram gave me a larger win than I otherwise would have had. Thanks to Maturin for the fast game, and as always being a great opponent!

You're like one country, with a couple of hours difference. It hardly deserves to be called time zones ![]()
I'd like to remind all players of who gets to qualify for eliminations rounds:
- the top ranked player of each of the 3 sectors
- one player from among those ranked 2-5 from each sector
- the two players (from any sector) with the highest MoV in a single match that has not qualified already
Everything is still possible!

Thanks for a fun game JJ! I did well for the first bit, taking out Garel's Honor as it tried to flank, but then cut the corner too hard. Then the rest of your mob showed up and *poof* ships started exploding left and right! Mostly mine, of course. ![]()
I'll put up the log file later. It only covers the first five turns as we got logged off the server, but the game was all but over by then anyways.

How many rounds will be played in the EU group before eliminations start?
Edited by Doppelganger24 minutes ago, Doppelganger said:How many rounds will be played in the EU group before eliminations start?
3 rounds.
Plus the extra qualification round for places 2-5.
That is three rounds left?
Or overall three?
17 minutes ago, Doppelganger said:That is three rounds left?

3 rounds total.
Then a special qualification round (f you can grab such a place).
GK what is the deadline for this round of games? Cactus and I are tentatively scheduled for next week, but I am also committing to a CC AOA right now and I want to make sure I will have time to complete all the games needed of me.
