Heroes......just out of place

Exactly. At first I would get discouraged if my hero did not pick up a Timmoran shard as an item, but theres only a 1/5 chance of that happening in an unaltered deck. Then I realized that if I didn't get a Timmoran shard, my hero would just have to go kill those that did and take theirs demonio.gif

I've seen people win without heroes and I've seen players win because of heroes.

The last game I played, my hero (Red Scorpion) was worthless - failed her quest twice, and then got slaughtered by a couple of my brother's Heroes.

However, at the end of the game, I only BARELY lost - I would have won later that season except my brother went first and got the 6th rune. His Hero did help him get that win (among many other factors not related to heroes), but my lack of a helpful hero wasn't the cause of my defeat, and I was dang close to pulling it off!

Or was your lack of a hero what lost you the game by not getting you that last rune before your opponent?

Ultimately they're definately good and I enjoy them, but they aren't the end-all be-all of the game, which is probably good since its not that uncommon for someone to get a good hero-killer rolling with a single Reward draw from what I've seen.

Nope, his hero may have discovered the Dragon Throne, but I held that area with my army first; I lost because he was able to drive me out the season before, and then in the last season (where I would have won), played a card to put 3 Rune Tokens (2 fake, 1 real, randomized) in 3 areas, and took one of those 3 areas, and it happened to be the real one. My lack of Hero wasn't what lost me the game. Maybe a contributing factor, in that a Shard of Timmoran could have won it, but there were so many other factors involved it certainly wasn't the game decider right there.

From the looks of it, my group is the only ones like this.....only once have we had a hero be the winning factor...every other times....useless....did nearly nothing. Nice to see everyone's opinions : )
