Defiance Title + Concentrate Fire Dial

By BlackHalo2, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Assume attacking at long range (red dice only in starting pool).

1. After rolling dice, I use Defiance title to add a black dice (or blue).

2. Can I now use the Concentrate Fire dial command to add another black dice, does the game now register the attack pool as updated? Or is the attack pool determined and locked in at the initial moment?

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question!

Yup, as far as I've seen you can do exactly that. :-) Concentrate fire adds any colour that is already in your attack pool and the black is added beforehand with the Defiance title. :-)

If it has been rolled to add it to the pool, its in the pool. Defiance does just that (as does Paragon for a different trigger)

When things have the same timing ("Add" effects all fall under 'Resolve Attack Effects' step) then you perform them in an Order of your choosing - there is no simultanious. So one effect will be added first, then the next.

Additionally, Dice Range is only considered when gathering dice at the start of the attack... Once you've gathered and thrown those dice - dice can be added of any colour of the rules say they can be added - such as a Long Range Black being added... As long as the effect adding them doesn't specify a Range you're out of.

If you have leading shots on a Defiance title, it would be better to add a blue die than a black on long range, just saying ;)

As long as you add after rolling you can wait until see what you roll before choosing, just saying ;)
