Perhaps, she's not too young to begin the training.
I showed the Sabine's Tie Fighter that I'd just bought to my 6 year old daughter and she said, "ooo, I want it".
Can has.
My six year old son knows the rules, more or less, and asks to play from time to time. He's getting pretty good at picking a maneuver that at least makes sense. Being a Dad is a cool experience.
Shows pretty well which population FFG is aiming for the game the next few years.
Old gamers are already conviced, they need to exploit something new to expand benefits.
Edited by GiledhilI taught my son to play when he was 5 1/2 or so. She should pick up the mechanics fine if she has some sort of gaming context already.

Target Audience.
Yea my 6 year old knows the rules, struggles with understanding to not move the minis during a game because placement is basically the most important thing. My 8 year old is starting to strategize lists and can actually beat me in games

I was trying for this link but it isn't working.
Soon, My Young Apprentice...
You Will Know the True Taste of the Darkness...
Edited by MarinealverI'm hoping to take my 6 year old to a tournament soon (kessel run so many people but one big ship each to run the gauntlet) he's even built his own ships!! Not sure how well they'll perform but still

Star Wars is for the 6 year old girl in all of us. If you're unable to embrace the pretty paint job of Sabine's TIE Fighter, you might be too old for Star Wars.
I recommend playing some X-Wing and saying "Pew pew pew" every time you roll dice. That ought to help you get in touch with your inner 6 year old girl.
My 2 and a half year old hasn't got a clue about the game, but in my mind is still an excuse for spending money on spaceships.
I've shared this often, but some kids play at a really young age. The only non-player in our house (except for my wife) is the 3.5 year old, and it's not for lack of wanting on his part. He has even owned his own ship (a HWK) since before he turned 1. Since my director is forbidden from geeking out to x-wing levels by his wife, he bought each of my son a ship when we started playing as a christmas gift.
The now-5.5 year old came second in the father day's furball tournament we held, when he was 4. He's really good at positioning and loves hunting people. For 10-15 minutes. Then he starts wondering when the story will kick in.
The now 7.5 year old started before he turned six, and had racked up a few good placements since, his best being 2nd in a kit tournament last summer. He has a reputation locally, tourists get warned to take him seriously, if they want any hope of winning. Though I, and he, think it was ridiculously funny, he was even featured in a podcast after people from Montreal made the trip to our local store for the store champs. He lost to the 2 hosts, but barely, so they were obviously impressed by someone that small hunting you down.
He can do 4 game tournaments with no issue and uses any down time to grab my list and play deathmatches against himself. And only because I have to keep telling him I need a break during matches!

Personnaly, I won't show Star Wars movies (especially ESB) to my kids before they are 8 year-ish old (depending how they evolve in their relation to movies and capability to understand physical and emotial violence in it). But that won't stop them from playing with SW games and toys (I have those everywhere ^^) and maybe watch Rebels.
But saying SW is for 6yo stays, imo, false. Teenagers, in the other hand, hell yeah !

PS : "Sabine's TIE" is a heresy. And no, not too old to love star wars, but maybe to see it turned into a preschool show without some serious grining.

Meh. To each their own . I just bought it to run some Phoenix Squadron versus Gozanti and TIEs Epic Play action. I have a CR-90, 2 A-wings, the Ghost, Sabine's TIE and a 3D printed CR-12 Thranta Corvette that I'm having painted as a mock Lightmaker Hammerhead Corvette. The Hammerhead mock-up is for my Rogue One 3-part scenario but it'll double as a Phoenix Squadron Hammerhead as well.
