Tie Advan Prototypes with Cruise Missiles

By Necronsis, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Valen Rudor (22), Deadeye (1), Crusie Missile (3), Title (1), Guidance Chip (0) = 27

Baron of the Empire (19), Deadeye (1), Crusie Missile (3), Title (1), Guidance Chip (0) = 24

Baron of the Empire (19), Deadeye (1), Crusie Missile (3), Title (1), Guidance Chip (0) = 24

Baron of the Empire (19), Deadeye (1), Crusie Missile (3), Title (1), Guidance Chip (0) = 24

Total: 99

Basic Alpha strike list.

I'd be tempted to take Veteran Instincts rather than Deadeye:

  • higher PS useful throughout the game whereas Deadeye is used once
  • Deadeye means your taking a focus instead of a target lock so you're not getting use of the TIE/v1 title
  • VI means you're more likely to be in range for a target lock (other ships having moved before you)
  • If you keep your target lock you can 4 k-turn and still use the Cruise Missiles with full effect. Deadeye could not be used after a k-turn because of stress
  • Deadeye's main advantage is target flexibility

Perhaps you could mix it up and see which do better

apart from all that, it's about to be totally outclassed when guns for hire drops.....

N'dru Suhlak (17) Cruise missiles (3) Scavenger crane (2) Deadeye (1) Guidance chips (0)

Black sun ace (23) Vaskai (0) Deadeye(0) Cruise missiles (2) Scavenger Crane (1) Guidance chips (0) Muntions failsafe (0)

Black sun ace (23) Vaskai (0) Deadeye(0) Cruise missiles (2) Scavenger Crane (1) Guidance chips (0) Muntions failsafe (0)

Black sun ace (23) Vaskai (0) Deadeye(0) Cruise missiles (2) Guidance chips (0) Muntions failsafe (0)

Blacksun points are title adjusted. the z95 can throw up to 6 dice, and kills @ r2 flip the missiles ready for next turn.........

Edit: oh and guidance chips crits on the black suns because of the native 3 reds

The local meta in my area is no one flies pilot skill 4 to 6. Everyone is either in the pilot skill level of 3 to 1 or 7 to 9. Hence why I am going for Dead Eye, so when facing Aces, I can Focus and still fire my missile even though they have moved after I have.

I dunno how long it will last, i have a sneaky suspicion the wording on vaskai will change either at the printers or via faq. It's just a little to good as is..........

I've flown something similar before only downgrading to 3 Seinar test pilots and dropping in a Stridan w/ Hux as support. The coordinate or Hux action helps them out a lot, plus provides a meaty distraction while they do their business.
