So if both players bring minefield mapper, who places first? You'd think it would be done in initiative order, but the setup phase isn't an active ship's turn, and there are no rules about it.

With the introduction of Minefield Mapper, at the very least, it's time for FFG to make a more robust setup phase sequence, especially if they intend to do any more abilities that do unusual things in the setup phase.

It would be lovely if they did this, especially given that there are a number of abilities that just don't function well with the current sequence. E.g. TFA Han - you deploy him on a rock and roll damage, and if he takes a damage, he loses a shield - but strictly, shields aren't added until after all ships have been deployed, so he doesn't yet have a shield to lose. Just for one example.

4 is not a valid number of Bomb Upgrade cards equipped on any of the currently released ships in X-Wing, so I'm afraid that doesn't work.

Technically, Firespray/Andrasta/Cad Bane can have 4 bomb slots, but it can't equip Mapper so it's kind of a moot point.

As with most weird corner case rules arguments, it's not actually GOOD, we just have no idea how it's supposed to work...
