How Focus works

By Iorniem, in Star Wars: Destiny

Hello everyone,

My apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but the "search" function is not working for me.

With the advent of the new rules, our player community is somewhat confused as to how focus actually work.

Easy example: Obi Wan rolls a 2 Focus and a blank. Can he use the 2 Focus side to change that very same side to 3 Melee and the blank to another 3 Melee? I don't think you can, because you must remove the 2 Focus side to resolve that effect, but still...

Thank you!

No, you are correct that you remove the dice to use it. Ultimately, the way Focus *usually* works hasn't changed at all, and you can mostly ignore the new rule.

The main thing that it effects is cards like 'My ally is the force', that allows you to resolve a dice without removing it from the pool. Previously you couldn't use this to resolve a Focus die and turn that dice to something else; you now can. So, for example, you can now resolve Obi-Wan's Focus side with MAitF and turn that same dice to his 3 damage side; previously you would have only been able to focus other dice.

Thank you for the clarification, Abyss. ^_^
