We just came back from the Store championship in Berlin (Germany).

We were 10 player.
I won with the Sloane list below with 28 points (the second had 19 points).

I will try to get the full lists (or at least some more infos) later.

It was well fought! And what a great turnout. I mean 17 players in Austin?!! Our communities have come a long way and it is great seeing Austin mature as a player base. You had me in a tough match my brother @Vergilius . But your event, and your group, along with your leadership is a positive contribution to Armada.

Minor Disaster on the Element Games SC in Stockport today.

@Jammers and I were at the train station at 7am this morning when the 07:12 train to Manchester was cancelled due to a broken down train. We wouldn't be able get to Stockport until 11:30am at the earliest so we looked into the possibility of getting the York to Stevenage train and playing at Lost Arc Games instead. Typed the details into the ticket machine on the station platform and there was one getting us there with half an hour to spare.

Splendid..... until we pressed the checkout button. £192 each! YYYOWCH!!! so we went home.

Normally (tournaments with ~8 player) there is no way at all that you are already the winner after round 2. If you lose the last match 1-10 your opponent should have went past you. The max you can have is 20 and your opponent has at least 12. So a 1-10 would give him 22 and you would have 21.

Unlikely if you know the opponent or know what you are doing (point deny). But a guaranty winner after round 2? Not so likely.

And he didn't mean the highest score. He mean a point difference of 9 points to the second. And this was not in my hand . It were the other player that made all the other matches this close. 19 points is an average of 6.33. And this is really low for a second.

So I did a thing and took first at the Crit Hit Store Tourney yesterday (I also took 1st at the store tourney at Bel Air Games on 6/17/17 - surprisingly did well pre-Reeiken nerf and even came out on top head to head with one). 8 people showed up. Any insight into how the player used the list? I'm curious to try something like that now.

In round 1 he was playing against a new, unexperienced player. So this is not good indicator. He won 9-2.

The second round was against me. He used the MC80 to get the ISD in this side arc and slowed me down with the tractor beam. He could stay out of the front from the ISD this way. He could fire 2-3 rounds at medium range into the side of the ISD. It hurt a bit, but was not enough to take it down. The squadron fight was over really fast. I laid a bait, he fell for it, and his squadrons were gone within 2 turns. After this my Ties went for the MC80 and ripped it. Took me still full 3 rounds for it.
His MC30 tried to get between the ISD and MC80, but i was able to stay out of the short range. In the end the Admo went for a few Gozanti and was able to kill two with ramming and short range attack.
The two transports were flying behind the MC80, but he was never able to use the repair crew. One transport was shot down by the Avenger ISD (after Stele knocked out the scatter). The second turned around and flew away.
But the mission (Fighter Ambush) didnt help as well. I had 7 or 8 victory tokens. But it was still the best choice.

But i have no idea how the last round was. He won it 6-5 or 7-4.

The idea was ok, but he was a bit unexperienced with the list. Especially with the squadrons. The MC80 can be a beast with the two transports who are removing the damage cards. The MC80 had a repair command most of the time. So it was hard to get throught the shields. But 4 activations are not enough to abuse the MC80 or MC30 as last/first ship.
His focus was as well more on the MC80 and not on the MC30.

Wait, so he brought Madine, with an MC80+ETs and MC30, no comms nets, and spammed engineering on the MC80?

Man, how disappointing.

Now I actually do have to play some variant of this list just to do multi-track drifting justice.

he used navigate at the begin and saved a token. But he had to switch to repair when he noticed that the squadrons are going to kill him. It was eighter repair or die. He even had to use the Skilled First Officer to remove his last navigate to reach the repair faster.

I would use comms net instead. To make sure that he has the navigate token that he need most of the time.

@Church14 The double Pelta list also had Dagger, a HWK, and Bomber Command Center. We also had some weird rules situations yesterday, we should get them up in the forum.

To be honest, I'm still surprised I came out with a win.
