I'm toying with this Double Edge build:

Double Edge - 19 ps

Ruthlessness 3

Twin Laser Turret 6

Assault Missiles 5

Munitions Failsafe 1

Ion Pulse Missiles 3

as I dont have the xx-23 s thread tracers, I didnt equipthem. They are still an attack, and work with ruthlessness.

Nice, mine kept dying to Nym's autoblaster turret with AC. TIE Aggressors can pack a lot of firepower but they do seem to break rather easy. TLT makes them a feared opponent but a hawks defense even with LWF is not that durable. I think Y-wings beat the Aggressors in a slugging match, Sure they have the 5 skill no ept 25 point counter to Thug life but that doesn't strike me as a list that will do good against anything else.

If you're ignoring TLT, the TIE Aggressor gets your so called 2.5/2.5/4/1 stat line for only 21 points. Not too bad.

TLT is another 7pts. We were talking about an unguided rockets build.

A more expensive, less durable Ywing isn't great. A HWK is still bad with a +1 primary and better dial

No matter what load out you pick there are similar ships in faction (or out for TLT) that do pretty much the exact same thing and usually better. The empire doesn't have very many "Imperial only" upgrades that break either and NO unique slots to help.

That is why TIE's need this:

Double edge, tlt, lw, lwf. Best bait ship/flanker I could ask for. If I wasn't getting two damage off a turn, it was cause I flew him a but to far from combat for that round. The ship is beautiful. Falls in the high 20s filler category just great. Plus I can say I won a SC with two SF and a AG now. Fun stuff. Sadly though the one or two times I did completely miss I was facing the wrong way so his ability didn't go off.

Oh yeah. The Y-Wings become clearly better in the bomb meta where Agility is irrelevant. Just another strike against this poor guy.

If you're getting hit often by bombs while piloting a ship that never has to fly towards bombers and their bombfarting arses, then there's room for pilot improvement

Kestral tlt ruthlessness

Double edge tlt ruthlessness

Echo vi,ACD,FCS,rebel captive.

It's not awful. I'm pretty sure it not awful.

Lots of lists these days like to stay snuggled up together. Bank decloaks is good vs. bombs.

Rebel captive does a fine job of harrasing all the expertise that's flipping around.

And all three ships are fine with dancing away and being slippery in general.

Range 3 doesn't go that far, besides with bombs these days you don't need to chase, You get within range 3 then you have to turn away they can still do some shenagians (s-loop) or such and find a way to drop a token on you. Bombing a ship has never been easier, but it is not just bombs it is the other stuff. AC just eliminates LWF to where you might be better off spending an extra point for a hull upgrade, that is assuming that it isn't an autoblaster turret. Thing is there is a lot of auto damage in the meta, there is also a lot of damage sharing in the meta (at least for rebels). TIE aggressors can't deal with either of those.

Like it or not, the tlt ag (especially with ruthlessness for the reb) just gave imps one of their best anti nym builds. Kite , range 3 plinking at the big bomber with no agi or his blasted escort and deal auto damage with the ept.....
