Hi all
Couldn't get a game in with my usual sparring partner so ended up rolling the dice against myself which was interesting but I'm sure it will happen again.

Finally! I find someone else that plays with themselves... Only time I get to play someone else is if I go to a local tournament.

The other day I put a kickstarter game on eBay because I never found people to play it. My girlfriend told me in the cutest voice "It's so sad nobody played that with you!". Me: "You want to play it then?" Her: "No"

Hi Jimmy!
It is always great to read your blog and follow your adventures! I actually think that setting up such games against yourself has a place no matter if you have regular opportunities to play or not. If anything it should improve the ability to visualize the situation with fleets.
I definitely liked the look of both of them too! I must admit that the aesthetics of the ships and the game itself is the factor that is very attractive. To the point that I really can't think about the fleet that does not include MC30
So thanks for lining the fleets up for a game, it was a pleasure to check the pictures alone.
As to the game I tried to look at it with somewhat simple approach in mind, the idea we discussed at the very beginning when you showed me the game for the first time and when I tried to understand the difference between Imperial and Rebel fleets. It was about the fact that in general Imperial ships are powerful with their front fire arc while Rebels may prefer broadsides. I think I could see that in your game when Rebel ships turned to do so and both fleets where arranged as a giant "T".
However, it then looked to me that the game somehow turned into what Imperials would prefer - a brutal fire exchange and I wonder if that was not the reason they got an upper hand.
Thanks again for the report and I keep fingers crossed that some more opportunities will present themselves soon!
Cheers!
