New Tournament Regs up

By CaribbeanNinja, in Star Wars: Armada

Looks like the only major change is the requirement that fleet lists include the card type of all unique characters that jabber multiple card releases. I'm guessing this is in response to the release of Leia, the first commander that cam also be assigned as a ship upgrade.

The Armada product page still doesn't link the new stuff.

The Article basically hints that the old stuff will remain there until the new stuff is legal on the 26th.

::EDIT::

Was it the 26th? Whatever date they listed. I only breezed through the article to get to the new links to test changes... Super-minor wording corrections.

@CaribbeanNinja sounds like we saw this update coming then. We were ahead of the curve!

Wins most useless update ever.

EDIT: Nothing new really jumps out at me expect for the interesting inclusion of " Players are encouraged to buy beers for their opponents. " and " Do not feed the Rieekan players ."

Come play at giga on Sunday we have beer in the store to buy for your opponent :D

I wish there was a place like this by me. And also that I was in my twenties and childless so I could actually go.

Or in my forties when my kids will old enough to have their own stuff going on so I can start clawing back parts of my life.

Also I'd like a yacht.

We are in Marietta just outside of Atlanta.

All of this and so much more

I've heard tell that if you serve alcohol Wizards won't touch you. A death knell for many stores. You also need a way to keep the riffraff out.

This used to be the case, but Wizards will now sell to "Gaming Cafes" that do indeed, serve Alcohol, in order to keep their Gaming Saturation up.

https://www.metal-galaxy.com/

For example.

@Drasnighta interesting, heard that relatively recently too, but the other side is you will always get a few bad eggs so I guess most stores would rather not bother.

At least in Alberta, the Liquor Licensing Laws make it difficult to serve Alcohol and also serve product that counters to a younger audience, but Metal Galaxy balances it fantastically. They're also some of the most Philanthropic people in the area... Their location isn't the nicest part of town, but they deliberately set up there to make the place better - and they're basically across the road from the "Big Brothers / Big Sisters" center, as well as the Dream Center for Disadvantaged Kids.

... I mean, from a Bar/Bistro Location perspective, they are essentially in the same block as Hooters , and still do great business...

The only problem I have with them is I can't ever find a free night to book Armada games in there, because Armada takes up the larger tablespace :D

I can attest that this is definitely allowed, since we have a game store locally that has 6 beer taps, bottled beer, and still has plenty of official MTG events.

It does, but their other tourney games got reg updates at the same time, so I guess someone was just taking a pass over everything, whether it was desperately in need of it or not.

Look, Armada got an article. Just appreciate it, okay?

Considering, in the past, we've been smacked with Direct Copy/past Transcription Errors (like having the X-Wing Setup, rather than the Armada Setup) in previous documents... And the X-Wing Win/Loss System...

We've had more Useless updates than this.

Far more useless.

Do I spy a line in there about Garm and Phoenix One?

I don't, so to what are you referring?

It's mostly updated to include "his or her" wherever appropriate.

Are we getting girl players in wave 7?

Also, waiting for them to update in the future to include genderless and furries.

And otherkin, don't forget to include them.

I mean...if you know any I guess?

They did this previously - this one actually picks the 1-2 occasions they missed.

Compared with the X-Wing Regulations document that literally had 4 Changes:

Two of which are:

A judge is well versed
to
A judge is well-versed

and

such as tossing a coin
to
such as flipping a coin

(the other two were the addition of the line " and any Event Outline or other document relevant to the event. " in the Judges requirements, and

Some events require players to submit a squad list, including their name and all associated Upgrade cards,
to

You jest, but I've played in events with both biological and transgender women attending. Being courteous and respectful is something that should be a part of tournament regulations and I'm glad FFG is setting an example.
