Misprints, mispack help...

By Basam, in Runebound

I recently purchased the Isle of Dread and off the bat noticed some errors. One the character cards, Lyssa, is labeled as Rune Enchantress instead of her name. Also, I received an additional hero figure for Trenloe the Strong but didn't receive a figure for Andira Runehand.

I was curious to know if these were common mistakes and what, if anything, other players have done to correct them? Is there figure exchange or similar refund/exchange offered by FFG?

Thanks much.

Lyssa's name might not be a mistake. Runebound game elements are not identical to Descent elements, althought hey are certainly very similar. I remember my Lyssa card having Rune-something up there as well. In my (often faulty) memory I thought it said Runewitch Lyssa, but it may well have simply been Rune Enchantress.

Is this an English copy of the game or some other language? I've heard of printing errors that resulted in cards being skewed or off-center, but I've never heard of one which completely altered the text on the card. That would require someone to actually change the text first, it's not like the printing machine is mixing and matching text with images automatically.

No, it's a misprint. There's an errata in the Runebound support page on this forum that says it should read "Lyssa of the East".

There are some other important misprints you should take care of, especially the 2/1 Ranged stats of Grey Ker. It should be 4/2!! This has turned a powerful Character into a real wimp.

Unfortunately, no replacement cards are available for Island of Dread. Too bad.

FFG admitted the mistake on Lyssa when I contacted them. No corrections, they said. It's not game breaking. -sigh-

So, I took matters in my own hands and printed, cut and pasted the name Lyssa of the East on my "Rune Enchantress" or whatever it is she's called.

Grr.

FFG, how can you mess up the spelling from one printing to the next?

Anyway, she's fixed. My group is happy. Do something like it and fix it too.

Also, go check BGG for original pics of Lyssa before this erroneous printing.

It is an English printing of the game. There aren't any centering and print mishaps that I have noticed. Honestly, the name misprint isn't such a big deal just me hoping for the best. However, the mini mispack is really irksome. Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't know about the support page. Just found the web site the other day.

Follow-up Question #1: what is BGG?

Follow-up Question #2: why am I "Glory to Hem"-ing?

FFG customer support should be able to fix your miniature issue no problem. They're really good about that sort of thing.

BGG is boardgamegeek.com, a popular board gaming website.

The "glory to Hem" thing was just a joke. =P Hem isn't a native English speaker so sometimes he's not all that clear. =P

Oh come on, no matter what the language was there, it was quite clear... :)

Haha. Is that what this Avatar is? I don't own the game it belongs to, I just picked it because it seemed apropos. =)

Gah, sometimes I am just too dense. I was reading posts and not looking at names. Free laughs on me.
