Huh!? Didn't the previous podcast come out this weekend? Oh wait, it's the same one. @_@;

Clearly I underestimated the bribery factor of an A-wing in my Intensity list. Next time ...

You notice an Azituck makes a good Swarm Leader for three Snap-Juke A-wings? Allows an Ops specialist in there ...

I had Sabine intensity too... it was the awing I'm sure...

I submitted Intensity Sabine with Jyn crew (to recharge the other Intensities) supporting Intensity Snap Wesley and Intensity Blue Ace (cause, you know, how janky is Blue Ace now, with a hard 1 boost/focus?)

The Kessel Run would totally have picked my list because of janky Blue Ace.

Frakkin' pirate scum!

I really enjoyed the podcast while walking my dog today. Thank you! The described TIE bomber/defender list sounded really fun as well.

I'm at the part where you talk about Mindlink not being toxic to play against and how you can counter play it, and how it's unlike Palpatine.

You get the focus token no matter what. There is no way to counter play it. You bump, stress them, and no matter what they get that focus token. The best way to hand a ship that has a pile of stress tokens on it a focus token is to use Attanni Mindlink.

Correct. It does have a few weaknesses, too, though.

People often say the mindlink list is weak to stress mechanics. It both is and isn't.

It is very good at maintaining focus tokens on every ship even when being hit with stress mechanics.

It is bad at manoeuvring whilst being hit with stress mechanics, because you knock out the red manoeuvres of the entire squad.

Actually parleying that into a meaningful advantage isn't that easy given the awesome dials of recent scum ships, but it is doable.

Right, and everyone knows that focus is the only action a ship ever needs.

TL, evade, barrel roll, boost, rotate arc, etc. are all obsolete actions and preventing your opponent from performing them doesn't count as counter play.

Who cares if Asajj can't shoot because her arc is facing the wrong way? She's got a focus token bro, you're doomed anyway.

Fenn stuck at range 2? Doesn't matter, he's invincible as long as he has a single focus token!

Good lord.

Anyway...loved the episode fellas, thanks!

I actually didn't listen to all of this because of all the salt that poured from my headphones when you started talking about Biggs. It was great until that point though :P

Here comes the Negative Play Experience Defense Squad to save the day. Last time that I played Dengar Fenn Inaldra it made my opponent think he was having a Negative Play Experience that he said he couldn't counterplay, but in reality he was actually having fun and should just get good. What great news that is! Next time I see him I'll know what to say to calm his anger, thanks Negative Play Experience Defense Squad!

Asajj never needs to turn her mobile arc. Just set it to one side and orbit around everything.

There is counterplay to Defenders! We all know that Defenders are invincible when they have a single evade.

wanna counter mindlink? done

I'm not talking about fun vs not fun. That's completely subjective. What is a "toxic experience" varies from player to player. I personally have never had a toxic experience playing this game. The closest I've had is "oh wow, this is probably a lost battle, but let's see what I can do.

What I was addressing was "there is no way to counter play it."

That's entirely false. You know it (even if you can't admit it). I know it. Everyone else who is willing to think creatively knows it too.

Counter play is an option, and pretending it isn't serves no one. All it does is feed the problem. The only effect lying about the severity of an issue can possibly have is convince everyone else to fly similar lists and magnify the issue.

If you get beaten by someone who just sets their mobile arc to one side and orbits around everything, then you chose not to counter play. Fly to the other side of Asajj. That's counter play.

^^^^^^^^

I click different threads in this forum.... But they all lead to the same thing, wtf?

Classic. Fly some easy mode crutch large base ship with essentially a turret that has green 3 speed hard turns, but it's on your opponent to get good and counter play.

My opponent has to just not land on asteroids and he's set. I have to deal with a turret that disables Autothrusters and gets 2 automatic evade results a turn + focus.

It's on me to be a mastermind while my opponent gets this:

Yeah, besides for my minor point of contention it was a great episode. Much better than having to wait 20 minutes for actual X-Wing discussion to start coughmynockcoughcoughcough.

Great to have Bob back on a podcast. He is X-Wing Jesus after all.

Ideally ships that are difficult to fly would pay off, and ships that are easy to fly wouldn't be as good.

The Shadowcaster with Mindlink and Latts Razzi crew is too good for how easy it is to fly. Likewise, it's too hard to counter play for how easy and effective it is.

That's the low sodium content variety of my argument.
