Hermit/Soresu/?

By TheShard, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

What would be your suggestion for a third spec?

Force Sensitive Exile?

Depends, what is the character focused on?

The animal? Pathfinder

The Force? Navigatior or Ascetic

Being a tank? Armourer, Niman, Shi Cho

Niman isn't a bad idea, acetic is also probable...

Reluctant hermit turned warrior, will be ebbing and flowing.

What career is the character, Guardian? And how far is he into each tree so far?

Started as a hermit, this is long term planning the game will get to high xp quickly, it's kind of the plan.

And what's your expected xp? I hate having a concept only just get into its rhythm as the campaign ends. Better to have an early goal of something epic then build other capabilities on top of that.

Reluctant Hermit warrior hey, with Ebb Flow.

Shien could be a great choice, adds lots of talents that are defensive, plus Supreme Reflect. Disruptive Strike is not much use because Ebb/Flow is similar.

What characteristics are you planning?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing with Shien's Supreme Reflect; since Soresu gets Supreme Parry they complement each other.

Hermit focuses a lot on Survival, though, and it has that cool once-per-session talent. It would be fun to have an ability where you can roll your Force Dice and be a boss for one Force check. Consider the Seer specialization, which has the Natural Mystic talent, allowing you to reroll one Force power check per session...really capitalize on that ability, if you need it.

There's also a big element of beast handling there in Hermit. So in addition to the obvious Pathfinder, there's also the often-overlooked Survivalist from the EotE core rulebook, the Beast Rider spec from Stay on Target, and the Big-Game Hunter from Enter the Unknown, each of which have a considerable amount of synergy with the Hermit.
