2 spots open for a PBP (gm in training)

By TheShard, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So trying to figure this GM-ing thing out. And I am in a bunch of games sucking up all that gm's time ;) ... So I also wanted to return the favor and see if I can give you a good story for us to work on.

I have some drop outs, so we got at least 2 spots open!

So it's in mid escape, the left overs of a devastated rebel cell have saved.a force sensitive(s?) from imperial forces. With a commandeered imperial ship they are trying to make the escape with TIEs hot on their tail. Will they survive to make the jump to hyperspace?

You could be a member of this daring crew!

Just to be clear, the PCs are members of this shattered cell? Are you looking for PCs using AoR specs, all 3 books? Who are the other characters?

So it might be down to 2 characters.

Which would be a member of the cell, and a force user.

You would be either a force user they also rescued or a cell member.

Only 1 force user would be accepted.

Otherwise all 3 books. During with either obligation or morality. May gain duty later on.

Knight level.

Kaz, a Gank exiled by his people, last survivor of his pack, orphaned by the cruel and ruthless empire. He has lived on the streets for years only managing to survive through his Cunning nature. Digging up dirt on people for credits, taking jobs for any criminal willing to pay.

Some time ago, while squatting in an abandoned shop, he discovered an old Marksman-H Combat Remote Droid. 2-J was once the property of a Jedi, but had been left when its owner was killed in the purge. With the little Droids help Kaz began to understand his survival may have had more than just pure talent to thank. He has trained with the Droid to become somewhat proficient at Lightsaber combat, following the Force to find a Crystal and fashioning his own somewhat crude Lightsaber.

Unfortunatly the Droid only has programming for combat, never learning the tenants of the Jedi. Kaz is therefore finding his own way with the Force, leading to a rather dark reliance upon it. He acts with passion and for personal gain, violence is definitely not the only method he uses. Deceit is just as important to him.

Recently he met another Force User, a Chiss by the name of Sevrahan. Her training in the use of Saber and Shield has given Kaz a whole new perspective on defensive techniques, he aqquired himself a shield to match and they now spar regularly.TwoJay is now more a mentor and coach.

Gank Shien Expert 3/3/2/4/2/1, good in Saber combat, can throw, has a Cortosis shield

I think it might be 3 characters, if @KungFuFerret is still checking the thread.

Would you want to give an elevator pitch of your characters?

Sure, my character is the cell leader, mechanically he is a Commander-Squadron Leader(1/3/3/2/2/4) with more of a focus on the command side of the spec tree. Since my character wasn't the pilot I put more ranks gunnery than piloting. Narratively he puts the mission first and focuses on how to help the cell.

Yes Im still checking the thread, but since it's not my action that we are waiting on, I didn't see any point in posting anything

Well awesome glad your still aboard!

Wanna give your little intro too?

Jaycen Ildis is an ex-Imperial, turned Rebel. He's primarily focused on Slicing, with some Infiltration as well. He turned from the Empire when his commanding officer destroyed an entire city to remove a suspected Rebel cell. Since then, he focuses on trying to uncover information that would expose the Empire for what it is, and hopefully spur more to leave Imperial control. He feels that most Imperials, like himself, simply aren't aware of how horrible the Empire is, and can be shown the error of their ways, with information.

He tends to try and find non-lethal ways to accomplish the cell's goals, by misdirection, trickery, and outright, bold face lies.

That suspected rebel cell was Kaz's pack :(

The characters are unaware of this connection though

I did not respond to your initial call for this campaign, because you specifically requested players experienced in this system, to better assist with your own learning curve. If you need players, though, I've kept up with the game so far, and would be happy to jump in.

I did not intend to join more than one pbp, but I am now trying to further develop my own comprehension of the crunchier aspects of the game. My handle on vehicle and space maneuvering and combat is pretty... well, speculative, really. If you don't mind winging it with me, I could create a pilot, and fake it till I make it? Or if you need to replace the gunslinger, I'm your huckleberry. @Cartergame may even be interested?

Seriously need a pilot... And the other anything really goes...

You are for sure welcomed in, you've played your *** off before so...

If you are still looking for more, I'd be happy to join. I always have a few ideas bouncing around. An ex-pirate Operator (though the group has a gunner and Edgehawk expressed interest in a pilot), or maybe a Jawa Outlaw Tech to keep the ship running (if you'd allow an unofficial species), or a social engineer/con man (a Clawdite Propagandist), though it sounds like Jaycen Ildis might have this angle covered?

Also I'd like to extend an invite to @April as she expressed interest as a player before she took on gm duties.

So edge an enoch you got the spots, I'm gonna actually open a 3rd and reserve it for Carter or April

Jawa is probably fine, I'll look over the menagerie write up.

Awesome. I don't want to push anybody out, but I always have concepts I want to try out. For reference, here are the stats from the USM:

WT: 9 + Brawn

ST: 10 + Willpower

XP: 100

Stats: Brawn 1, Cunning 3

Bennies: 1 rank in Mechanics (can't start > 2), 1 rank Utinni!. Desert Dweller (remove 1 setback from arid/hot environments. Sil 0.

I'd go with that except instead of the free mechanics rank I'm gonna give you the equivalent of the appraisers eye as a species ability

That's an automatic advantage on Negotiation and Streetwise checks to buy or sell items, right? That makes a lot of sense thematically for a Jawa, and I'm fine with that.

Yeah I thought so.

I'm always excited to have a jawa on board...

So the jawa I'll introduce right after the chase scene...

@Edgehawk so your up, whenever your character is ready assume your in the cockpit ready party of the team.

I'm working on a character concept/background - when is this set? I'm thinking he's maybe on the run from the Empire (he might have even been a part of the clan in the sandcrawler destroyed in ANH?) or a Hutt kadijic for a "misunderstanding" about ownership of a droid he acquired and/or disassembled for parts.

Right before rogue one
