The Leia Experiment: Store Championship

After winning my most local store championship over the weekend, I decided I wanted to enter my remaining store championship with something a little more experimental using Leia. For a while, I was working on something I called the Tarkin Experiment, and so the Leia Experiment began. The first thing you see with Leia is that she is incredibly expensive. If you do a Concentrate Fire command, she's perhaps as good as unmodified Akbar rolls since you're bound to roll a blank or want to fish for an accuracy. Maybe she's not really so bad since she gives you some versatility that Akbar does not by being able to . At their core though, expensive admirals are begging for as many ships that can use them as possible.

This fleet uses four Task Force Antilles Hammerhead Scouts with Intel Officer and Gunnery Team as its attackers. They are supported by Phoenix Home with Shields to Maximum with Raymus and Ahsoka to collect and convert command tokens for Shields to Maximum. Hammerheads are incredibly susceptible to bombers, and I'm going to need to focus fire on any carriers and flotillas while my fighter screen buys me a little time. The double clicks on the first joint and navigate commands should help with positioning there. I'm not thrilled about the red and yellow objectives either, but they at least tell me where my opponent is going to go.

Please give me suggestions for the whole thing except Leia, the Pelta, and the Hammerheads themselves. I'm open to suggestions about upgrades on the Hammerheads as well as whether I should go with the cheaper model.

I'm thinking something similar but using a Liberty. I was thinking about a Pelta or Pelta and Liberty but not sure shields to maximum was worth it. I don't like that you need Leia and Raymus or other token source to make it work. So I'm trying a Lib with engineering teams with Scout Corvettes with slaved turrets. I figure they all focus Fire at first. eventually switch the Lib over the repair commands. With Leias ability it should be fun.

My thinking with Shields to Maximum is that even if only one ship gets attacked, Task Force Antilles means the damage will have been spread around. If my opponent does only 1 or 2 damage, it'll be replaced by StM assuming a Task Force Antilles ship is in range. And there's always the option to do a Repair on the next command, too.

I also wanted to run a "Leia Experiment", but went in a different direction than you are headed. I ran Leia, Yavaris, 5 Hammerhead Torpedo Corvettes, 2 YT1300, Jan, Ten Numb, and 2 B Wings. It ended up placing 3rd out of 8 players at a local Store Championship. Leia is a lot of fun, i.e. add concentrate fire to a Turn 2 Anti-Squad shot (only valid shot that turn) from HHT, with the reroll from Leia's ability, allowed me to finish off a Tie Interceptor. Did that a few times during the day.

I didn't use any of the Task Force titles, and don't regret not using them. I am planning on doing an Battle Report/AAR, so look for that over the next few days.
