I flew this to top four at our local champs went 4-1. My one loss was my own stupidity and should've been a win. Bombs on Oicunn won me 4 out of the five games. I lost in the top 4 cut but dead chuffed with my run. Final was a QuickDraw off, which my opponent had more shields than me

Questions are:

any way way to improve my list that you can see

i love pattern analyser but would sensor cluster on QuickDraw help to keep him alive longer?

Dump Bombardier for a second Inspiring Recruit so that you can Dauntless > Rage and still get actions next round.

I prefer PA by far. Cluster is nice, but PA keeps you alive when you sloop, which is often.

Agreed. Backdraft can afford to keep flying away and using the tail guns, so is good with sensor cluster. Quickdraw really needs to point her nose at people.

I tried that and made the decision of bombardier because to clear stress after a bump with a 2 manoeuvre the bombardier gives you that range to still drop clusters on small based ships head.

I also found that after a bump if you drop clusters at R1 they either fly straighter over them or it shuts down a lane and they are then flying predictable moves for one to two rounds

That's a very specific situation. Double Recruits fits another specific situation, though one I'd agree is more likely to happen.

As an improvement, I think being able to Rage on a bump is far more useful than the additional range on the bomb drop.

I like Sensor Cluster as well, but not in this particular build -- with two ships, you need to keep both of them in the fight as much as possible. PA does that FAR better, and allows you to not double down on stress punishment (stress shutting down Expertise is sad. Stress shutting down Expertise and Sensor Cluster feels like a lot of wasted points).

I'll give it another go with double recruits but having the option of R1 or R2 bombs came up in 4 out of 5 games and in the cut I used bombardier as well

I had a little too much fun running these two the other night:

Oicunn (64):
Push the limit, Prox Mines, Ysanne Isard, Rebel Captive, Kylo Ren, Extra Munitions, Engine Upgrade
Backdraft (36):
Expertise, FCS, Primed Thrusters, Special Ops Training, Lightweight Frame

PTL on a Oicunn with Isard is a hoot, let me tell you. Run into someone, do the one damage. Isard gives you an Evade action, PTL off of that to boost or Kylo or TL or Focus. Next turn, try a green maneuver for another contact damage, strip the stress, lather rinse repeat. Meanwhile, Backdraft is rear-shotting whoever you've chosen to Kylo. Hilarity ensues.

Well... sort of. You actually can't PtL to use Kylo, so that doesn't work -- PtL only works for actions in your action bar. EU specifically says you get Boost in your action bar, so that's kosher.

PtL and Isard is a great combo -- can turn even Oicunn into an arc dodger, though that's not really why you use it. You need Dauntless on Oicunn so that you can Kylo on a bump, though, otherwise Kylo on Oicunn is counter-intuitive...

... Except then you can't use Isard, or PtL.

You've got a lot of points at odds with each other in this list, unfortunately.

Supergreat point, kylo is usually an early game action that I use when setting up a block. But in that instance, I can use a "kylo action" to check range for a TL before I ever try and TL. If I'm in range, I do the kylo thing, and then I can PTL to boost or TL, depending on what my range/intentions are. It was my mistake to add "kylo" to the list of garbage that I could to in a PTL off of Combat Phase Isard, and for that, I apologize.

That being said, Dauntless is the most (usually) useless title in the game. Dauntless on a PTL Isard deci of any flavor is a waste.

Dauntless is really only good on Oicunn or if you happen to have 2 spare points and even then I think an Ion Bomb is probably more useful.

Was wondering what people's thoughts are on which list they think is better out of the 2
