C3PO

When doing c3PO's action to resolve another dice by changing it to a different symbol, if you have to pay a resource for the original dice, do you have to pay a resource for the symbol you change the dice to? Also, if the original dice had a modifier symbol, would the new symbol you change the dice to also be a modifier? Sorry if this is confusing in how this question is worded, just trying to clarify how C3PO interacts.

Yeah, C-3PO keeps everything else already showing on the die's face except the symbol, except when changing to a special (in that case, that value also changes, to zero).

Any die with a modifier is actually worthless with Threepio's ability, because you can't resolve a modifier by itself and Threepio only lets you resolve that one die.

I think your question might also be answered by this, from the official FFG rules reference:

(quote)

"C-3PO (30)

  • C-3PO does not allow you to resolve the die without paying its resource cost, nor does he allow you to ignore modifiers.

  • C-3PO can turn other dice into specials, at which point the value of the die does change to 0. "
