I've straight had it with TLT.

If there's three or four TLT across the table then I guess congratulations...you're the best at x wing.

If you still lose against 4 TLT, after more than one year, congratulations...you're a bad player.

Why people continue to blame more than learn? Do they not get embarassed?

Not every list can win it out against 4 TLTs, not every list is going to win every single time against 4 TLTs

No, but we are considering a competitive game yes? Because I can't value any salty topic as this against a friendly game.

So...you have to build up a list that can actually win against a 4 TLT. That's the base.

Then, more important, you have to know how to fly against 4 TLTs.

I'm just sick about those whining post. I can get it against any new archetype...but 4 TLTs? Really? Again? That's boring and kinda useless.

So? Nothing new, take 3 Defenders and it will have hard match-ups, take Kanan-Biggs and it will have hard match-ups.

People figured out how to beat quad TLT over a year ago...

So have I, dont worry about that, I just find it extremely boring to play against and in some cases its really a uphill battle from the start. I don't plan my lists against 4 TLTs, thats just folly.

I think it's easy to get a false impression that quad TLT is a simple handle and easy to prepare for because the players who most often fly it are low level players. Get it in the hands of a player who has put in the reps with the list, (like the player that went 7-2 at worlds with it), and you will find its no trivial task to take out and can be near the top tier. I also think it is an odd corner case of a list that is really strong but often considered so boring to fly that it kind of nerfs itself by few strong players being willing to fly it even with the knowledge that it works.

But it's not Ye Olde Four Y-Wing build that's getting the attention now. It's the Four TIE Aggressors with TLT and Lightweight Frame that's the new annoyance/hotness. Taking out four 1-Agility ships is easy, if boring. Taking out four 2-/3-Agility ships, granted with lower overall hit points, is the question now.

Why are Target Lock Tokens Overpowered? They're a core game mechanic.

( Seriously didn't realise what TLT actually meant for Ages...)

Okay? That just means we need to work on tactics for the new builds. First thing that springs to mind is burst firepower, being able to land more hits with fewer shots (so NOT TLT lol). With less hit points they aren't staying too long. I'll have to see if that works before deciding the sky is falling.

Very insightful.wow.

Just learn to beat it. Amazing.

So all the Jedi were bragging about how they were going to defeat the Sith, later the bragging became arguing on whose going to beat them first.

So they first send QuiGon Jin the most arrogant one. He goes to the planet where the Sith are based at, and never comes back.

Next they decide to send their Jedi Best Skilled at the lightsaber, Mace Windu. Mace Windu goes to the same planet, and never comes back .

So after losing two Jedi they decided it might be better to see what they are dealing with, so they decided to send the smallest Jedi Yoda, and because he is green the camouflage will keep him from being spotted. The jedi go to the planet and let Yoda scout out the Sith position.

Later Yoda comes running back shouting:

"Retreat You Must, Two of Them There Is!"

So does this thread confirm that all complaint threads are just salt threads after game losses?

The Jumpmaster II can equip both Deadeye Skill Bullets and T akes skil L T urret.

TIE aggressors may prove nastier Twin Laser Turret caddies - if you're happy firing unmodified shots by the bucketload, then barrel roll makes that blind spot much more elusive.

Triple (rather than quad) turrets also lets you bring the named TIE aggressors. Lieutenant Kestal's ability to punch through autothruster-defended green dice makes her suddenly a lot scarier.

What do you use in your squad, if I might ask?

I don't think you necessarily must have torpedoes or missiles to fight them, but I will agree that the rate Twin Laser Turrets can rack up aggregate damage to agility 2 or less targets is scary as hell. I would agree that if you think facing them is a realistic likelihood, you should plan on your squad being able to kill at least one Y-wing at PS3 or greater.

That is a challenge, but not as much of one as you might think; theoretically any three 3-dice attack ships can do it, especially if one of them is at range 1.

That's not to say it's easy. In the hands of someone who knows what they're doing, quad scum Y-wings or TIE aggressors are always going to be scary. But they are killable, and whilst bombs and so on can be an issue, a Twin Laser Turret armed ship tends to run so close to 25 points that taking them will cost something else important (the Lightweight Frame or astromech).

Actually, one thing I always liked about fighting against a TLT is the feeling of relief you get when your opponent rolls multiple crits, but then you remember that it doesn't matter because it's just a TLT.

Definitely this. I've been using TIE strikers for quite a while, and just losing hull a point at a time is unpleasant, but knowing that it's going to take at least 4 shots to put one down, even if he doesn't miss a single shot, is actually quite reassuring.

Mind you it was a small SC, but double edge with LW, LWF, and TLT to flank for backdraft and quickdraw worked extremely well. People saw him and usually took the bait to chase after him while the other two come in for a pincer like tactic. Then the Aggressor just swings back around to skirt the battle peppering the ships that used their tokens to avoid the two /sf's.

Fair to say the X-Wing community is definitely a repellent factor these days. There's nowhere to talk about X-Wing, or go to play X-Wing, that isn't a toxic mess of horrible people.

Come on SOTL, what about that good old Northern hospitality?

And then it became full of threads whinging about pretty much everything. Mind you, I don't recall this forum ever being much else. I'm just here for the repaints, squad theorycrafting and to provide the occasional reality check.

:)

I think the recent spate of FAQ-changes have left some people with the feel that if they yell about it enough, they can get things 'fixed' (i.e. as they see they should be).

There are good things here too. The repaints, custom card threads, and so on are all worth a look.

Playing X-Wing is fine, I meet plenty of great people.

The people that complain about complainers end up spreading more negativity than the complainers. Complainers otherwise like the game and want it improved and that's why they complain.

The anti-complainers end up stubbornly defending negative play experiences and telling complainers to just shut up and get good.

That's much more negative than pointing out how much of a Negative Playing Experience this game can be sometimes and wishing it wasn't that way.

No way. The complainers.....well, complain.

Who want's improve himself, just complain himself. Never the game.

I must say, that user name is proving to be very, very apt.
