I really like that you used "Vale pact" pictures. Image exchange was good idea - "Spy in their midst" you have used is one of my favorite, although the original is also pretty.

Why the hell didn't they use Katherine Dinger Arianne?

Because she is so hot we forget to play the game lol. And in that same train of thought, why not her Doran Martell image as well. To me, the HoTa Doran artwork is THE Doran Martell artwork.

I so miss Holding Tactics. That is one of my top 5 favorite cards of all time.

And I wish I had the software to make customer GoT cards, like Strange Eons does with Arkham Horror and Talisman. Those are beautiful.

So... what do you do? Play the event cards, then substitute these in play?

That's what I figured, kinda like token creatures in Magic. I always wanted to make up similar ones for the Night's Watch and Wildling charaters from back in Winter edition from Westwatch and Craster's Keep. Otherwise, at 1 gold each, these would be Waaay broken.

Wow, I'm trying to find reasons (excuses really) to put these cards back in my deck so that I can play with the "tokens." These look great. I especially like the intrigue version...that used to be on a card that fueled the discard for a Martell deck

The substitutes also imply characteristics that the "token characters" do not have. The events-as-characters would not have a printed cost or STR, and their keywords cannot be blanked out of their text boxes.

These are pretty cool, and probably really helpful most of the time, though.

Nope, we just keep the token between the actual card and the back of the sleeve. When we play the event we put the token between the card and the front so everyone can see it and when the character leaves play we just put the token behind again. The printed cost is just a "formality", we know that these cards have no printed gold cost so it's not a problem in our meta. Anyway, the event is always behind so you can see the original text.
