32 point Blitz rules?

I've been tasked with running a 32 point Blitz tournament at our local Comic Con next month. What are the rules?

From what I was asked to do, it looks like the organizers want a 3x6 mat and have EVERYONE play at the same time. How would we determine movement/firing order? Are their points or is it last man standing wins?

Sounds like you should ask the organizers. How the hell should we know? It's not an official format.

I'd guess they're trusting you for the fine details. For initiative, I'd say that those under the maximum points move after those at the maximum points (so 30 moves after 31 and 32). Ties can be broken with a deck of cards - deal one to each player, and the highest number moves last.

Instead of having 20+ people on the one 3x6 table, I'd suggest 2 tables of 10, or even three tables. That way your downtime isn't 20 or more minutes, and you're less likely to be killed by everyone in your vicinity ganging up on you.

Finally, I'd suggest that each player brings 1 asteroid or two debris to put on the table in ascending pilot skill order. That way you get a more crowded field, pushing players together.

From playing in a 50pts tournament, I would recommend banning Lone Wolf.
