I might be wrong.

Based on what I found on Wookiepedia torpedoes seem to be some sort of conical projectiles

from what I can gather, Torpedoes are higher payload, but shorter ranged and are more for attacking capital ships, while missiles are a smaller payload, but longer ranged.

Proton torps are basically shaped charges, force all the damage into the target so good at punching through armor, the concussion missile however is more like an AOE weapon, has a larger blast radius.

I guess in the DS 2 scene, the concussion missile was a better choice to make sure they did damage in a larger radius?

@GiledPallaeon would the MC 75 be a battle crusier, Or more of a fast battle ship?

they're kinda the same by WWII almost all battlecruisers were refitted to include battleship grade protection, but if you want to answer that question specifically was the MC75 designed specifically to outgun and hunt down cruisers while out running anything that could threaten them? if yes, then they're a battlecruiser. if no, fast battleship

I initially thought the Liberty class MC80 was a battlecruiser, and the MC75 a fast battleship.

like i said, it primarily depends on the intention behind the design. which one was designed to fight battleships, and which one was designed to fight cruisers?
