so, now that we have an errata and a new wave, will you start streaming the game again?
Asking cause your matches were a lot of fun to watch.

WWPDSteven has a podcast called Intensify Forward Firepower.

I was thinking the same thing. Loved the streamed games and the podcast. Both are partially responsible fir my addiction to this game.

ditto
Iff had great banter and good insights into the game, just not sure i could tune into to a fairweather players cast when there's good content sprung up in its place.
so they come back for a wave,if they dont like wave seven will they just let us down again?
Eh, they never really made any pretense about the show though: just some guys who made a cast about a game they were playing for fun, and stopped doing it when it stopped being fun. I feel like it's a little... I dunno, tribal ?... to cast aspersions on somebody for not playing a game they don't enjoy anymore.
They never monetized the show or anything, just did it for free and for fun, so it's not like they ever owed any of us anything (except
@Versch
, who paid up
).

Agree 100%.
I'm disappointed because I completely understand their position. The game has definitely come to a point where it feels like it punishes lists that don't do XYZ, and if XYZ doesn't appeal to you that can be a real turn-off. Worse, this list building issue seeps down deep into the casual experience where players can have an almost accidental unbeatable list vs certain others so long as they aren't making egregious mistakes.
The two ship/134 squadrons used to be a viable list design, not any more. 4-5 ship no-squad fleets used to be a viable list design, not any more.
Realistically, it's all about activation count + squads now and that's not good for the overall game health. Hopefully Hammerheads are going to change that around some.
Yeah, Steven has pretty much left the game. Sorry to see him go, but to each their own.
As for the XYZ design, just try different things. Don't fall into the group think that says you need XYZ, because you don't. I just watched a guy go 3-0 and get second in my SC (he lost out to me by 1 Tourney Point, we both went 3-0) with a VSD, Glad, and Raider supported by a Decimator+Valen ball. 3 activations, no flotillas, and Rogues. None of that is supposed to be viable. He went 9-1, 8-2, 7-4. And he was a single damage point on his Demo from going 9-2 in that last game. If you just fly the same thing over and over, of course the game will get old.

IMO the next errata will probably target really, as of right now flotillas can still fly the borders of the map without ever feeling in danger of getting shot at.

This. Biggs just took Avenger and Devastator with a bare minimal squadron screen to a tourney today and did well. I myself took dual ISDs and scatter aces to a SC a few weeks ago ( before the nerfening) and went 3-0 (including facing a GH/Yavaris Rebel aces ball).
There is still nothing that is mandatory in this game (commander +1 ship aside), and several people have been demonstrating that over the last several weeks.
I agree... to me there seem to be many ways to play the game and if you are experienced and careful when you play you can probably make pretty much anything work.
I do believe though that you will need at least some rudimentary squadron screening group or it will be hard but probably not impossible to win consistently.

Disagree. I feel that there are a vast array of viable options.

I will personally refund you every cent I have received for making IFF, since you are dissatisfied with the product.
Hey guys, thanks for this! I did pick up the new wave, and have played it a bit and enjoyed it. I plan to attend Nationals, but I definitely don't pour my heart or time into it like I used to! I think making the top 4 at worlds will be my high water mark in this game
To be honest, I've re-discovered Dungeons and Dragons... Been playing quite a lot (with many of the awesome folks I've met through Armada!) and that's where my current gaming interests are.
As others have said, many other great content creators have risen up, and I'm not sure there's a place for the remaining IFF crew to talk about Armada! I think I'm the only one who even still plays, and that's irregular at best. I do intend to be a crash test dummy for @Overdawg so he can take it all the way.
Currently I am playing some pretty awesome D&D campaigns with many fine folks from this forum! @Reinholt @Captain Weather @Caldias Jud, @Chancellor87 @Overdawg and many others. Even my wife has gotten into it!
I just recently started a dumb D&D blog: http://www.castlemacdnd.com if anyone happens to be interested. I have the itch to create a podcast... I just can't not broadcast!
Anyhow, thanks again- this made my night y'all!

Just glad you are still around and playing a occasionally. Play what makes you happy and have a blast.
Thanks for the content you and the others created, you suckers got me completly addicted to this game. Just wish i had more time and opponents to play.
Steve, even if you never play another round, yourself and the IFF crew are the number one reason I stuck it out and have started growing the Armada community in my area. Thank you, and we miss you guys.
My $.02...
I liked it for the banter. Nevermind anything useful or scientific. The other stuff is typically pretty dry.

I really miss that theme tune tho!
I think Iff touched a "generation" for want of a better word and inspired them to build their local communities, aspiring that they too may play armada and have the same buzz and energy you guys had for the game, learning and improving through discussion. mine/me included. You had a really good thing going, and you got to the crossroads and decided to take a different path.
Wave 5 worlds and europeans pass, winners included players from good solid local metas like you had, each champion acknowledging that their firm was such a huge and vital pat of their success. That could have been one of you guys for me and it would have been a fitting reward for you efforts and input and the great work you guys did. Even if you didnt win you could and would have been thereabouts. IMO.
So on the subject of dissatisfaction, my local meta is growing and the banters good and you can believe iv put a lot of effort into that.
Your local meta is chasing down imaginary dragons in an dungeon somewhere, and i bet none of your imaginary magic wands even makes imaginary pew pew noises! - but as long as your satisfied im satisfied.
Wave 6 is gonna be a good wave. i bet you could take them canadians eh?
Here in Buffalo weve been lucku to have tourneys where the IFF guys attended (Tarkin and Versh), and just recently the power crew from Canada came to our Store championships last weekend, including the current World Champ Norm.
Also, Norm went undefeated with a 2 ship Devastator list, no flotillas, swarm squads, so variety still works. He had less total points than others but did go undefeated, many(all?) 7-4 matches.
