Huh? I'm quoting sci-fi movies here. What the heck are you talking about? Only Scum haven't heard of the Highlander...

I thought the image was depicting Wallace? That Braveheart character played by Mel Gibson.
Haven't seen the movie though, so I could be wrong.

It's Chris Lambert from Highlander. A movie with about 300 percent more head chopping and Sean Connery than Braveheart.
While misidentifying 80s B-Movies is a pretty big sin, I'm feeling more suspicious of Truthiness here. Even if his accusations are jokey, he's already made two attacks on people it seems like he's trying to get the opinion turned against people way too quickly.

Caribbean Ninja seems a little quiet. Wonder what's up with that? I'll say ##vote Truthiness for now, since the "Highlander" banter is suspiciously distracting.

It makes it easier for the mod if you drop the vote outside the body of text. Like,
##action
Back to business, Truth looks like he's playing his typical day one games. Drop a little vote, see what comes of it. Nice to see the new crew is active. Its late in the night and early in the day, so I'm just popping in to check on if anything crazy was poppin'. I'll be back in the morning with more to say.

Ah. See, having seen neither movie, I find it easy to conflate the two when the main characters' costumes look alike.
Anyways, what Truthiness is doing is meant to spark conversation from which loyalties can be determined at a later date. It's not fickle, nor is it completely serious, as far as I can ascertain. It is also, as Mad said, his normal day 1 behavior, and the extension of a joke carrying over from last game.

I was (slightly) aware. I just figured I'd trade some shots with him to get things going.
MY VOTE REMAINS (for now)
Ha, same joke, same response. Talking and joking somehow equals Scum...again...
*sigh*
My day one methodology gets results...and also tends to get me killed by the Scum or the town. I will be holding the fact that I had the Scum pegged by day 2 last game over your collective heads forever . What was I saying? Oh right, I saw going to an incoherent strong of jokes and memes. Hmm, let's see if I can find a good 'come at me bro' meme again.
Here we go. Since half of you are so Scummy that you thought I was doing Braveheart instead of Highlander, this seems appropriate:

Fixed, sorry.
Just an FYI, I'll be incommunicado for a good few hours, if not the rest of the day, so don't expect much from me. . .

Well, in the narrative context of a srs bsns military battleship bridge in the middle of a major predicament, it kinda does. I know that doesn't have any real bearing I just thought it was funny.
On the one hand, your gung-ho attitude towards possible death seems like a good tell of innocence, as getting people to kill you is the last thing a scumnik would want to do, but very few people have voted yet, so the boldness is diminished as I think you're probably not in that much danger at the moment.
You know though, looking back, it seems weird that Imperial Captain would jump on my bandwagon so quickly. Especially since he was using the joking itself as the suspicious factor instead of the actions underneath the joking. Not only that, I find the mention of one of the less active posters very odd. Why CNinja specifically? This all seems much stranger to me than anything Truthiness was doing.

One of these days I'll get to be Scum... Honestly I've died early so many times that it isn't so much a gung-ho attitude as I've become inured to the inevitably.
Speaking of gung-ho you're awfully quick to jump around on votes. I'd like to hear from the rest of the group some more before moving on from my usual joke voting. Toad's comment has peaked my interest as well. Was that directed at me or Bike?

Well, I am trying to get the scum guy here lynched, so I'll go where I think the evidence is, plus if I went too aggro on you with relatively light evidence it might give off the wrong impression. Last thing I want to do is frame myself. As I kinda said earlier, I was just trading shots with you to liven up the beginning a bit, but the good captain's post genuinely seems weird to me. I look forward to hearing his explanation as to why he namedropped Ninja.
Good point on the waiting though, I think I might indeed be taking things a little too quickly, especially considering my first post was saying that I was gonna wait and see lol.
I think Truthiness is probably town because he knows the difference between Highlander and Braveheart, which is a monumentally important distinction.
I'm no doctor, but I think not talking is probably hazardous to an imperial officer's health. At least it proved to be last game.

To be honest, I just thought it was weird that someone who's been in basically every Mafia thread wasn't saying much...I'm not too concerned about it though, not a big deal yet.

I'm here...watching all...
You get a mini-pass because you currently have the most appropriate forum name for this scenario...
##Role confirmed.
Be on this evening.
I think it is far to soon to be pointing fingers. This is what the scum want!
## no lynch

In Ninja's defense, he's usually pretty quiet to start . When he's town he's generally good at taking in everything during the first day. If he doesn't start chiming in toward the end of day one, then I'll start to be suspicious.

I saw the same thing, but left it unremarked to see how things developed. You're not wrong, but I don't have a good enough feeling for the good Captain yet to see it as 100% Scum behavior. He's suspicious thus far, but that's not saying much right now.
