Whisper/QD/Zeta maximum firepower

By Zucch10, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I've been pretty underwhelmed with imperial output lately. I've had some success with surprise jank, such as having Tomax fire a second unexpected homing missile off of a target synched quickdraw, but I feel imps are out hulled and outgunned for the most part. So I've been thinking about what would feel good on the table and what would boost our damage output, and I've hit upon this.

(98)

"Whisper" (41) - TIE Phantom
Veteran Instincts (1), Fire Control System (2), Agent Kallus (2), Advanced Cloaking Device (4)

"Quickdraw" (36) - TIE/SF Fighter
Expertise (4), Electronic Baffle (1), Special Ops Training (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

"Zeta Leader" (23) - TIE/FO Fighter
Veteran Instincts (1)

Played a similar setup vs a poetensity/ray list but had crack howlrunner in place of zeta leader. Smashed ray to bits but poe's MasterCard "everywhere he wants to be" did me in with some amazing plays.

I think a third ps9 that can boost his own damage output with an interceptor dial is a good replacement, since I really didn't need the rerolls on QuickDraw and whisper is always out doing his own thing.

Thoughts?

Switch that Baffle for Fire Control System, or go all in and take Rage instead of Expertise.

See I don't understand the thinking there. Rage double stresses you, so next turn your screwed out of everything. Baffle let's you not only use the entire dial to pull a hard or sloop but also lets you fly through debris and still take an action or stops assajj from stressing unless she wants to eat a hit.

Yeah, I don't see why you'd rage that, and half the point of FCS is for the Targeting Synchronizer synergy.

It's a tactic people use to get a "revenge" shot off of rage and baffle, sometimes before another ship moves and takes actions, and fully modified. Then next turn you can take a green to be stress free

Depends on what you fly. 3 tie strikers and an upsilon support shuttle have become my new favorite. I've melted a Par-attani list during the test flight without losing a single ship myself, and destroyed a vcx in one turn of engagement, causeing my opponent to rage quit. I call it imperial hell bats :3

That sounds awesome. What was your build?
