Inquisitor in the current meta

How good is the Inquisitor in the current meta?

Guess his autothrusters will shine a bit more once Imp-TLTs are dropped. Main enemies will be PS9 aces and Asajj and other stress mechanics.

Any experiences (with and against him)?

He really does not fair well against a Kylo Shuttle, Vader & Lockdown list. Those two hull evaporate quickly under ISYTDS crits.

He's still successful in certain lists (with RAC for example). Unfortunately he's also quite predictable and unless you put prockets on him, very weak in R1. He's an easy prey for Fenn, who completely outclasses him in R1 and has the PS to outmaneuver him and force that R1 engagement. It's funny, back when he was first introduced, he seemed to be an obvious offensive upgrade over the traditional interceptor aces, because he could get TL, focus and deny range bonuses. It seemed like such strong ship offensively. These days 3 hits are merely okayish and his R1 attack is actually laughable. I still recall a game where Inky had a 1v1 face off with Ryad. He just couldn't hit her. Even if he did manage not to get outflanked by her k-turns, he simply couldn't punch through her defences. Granted neither could she at extended ranges but it all ended in a couple of R1 engagements where Ryad rolled 4 dice while Inky still only rolled 3. For Ryad it was enough to finally nail Inky. I think it was the last time I played him.

Now that Cruise Missiles are out, I'm really interested in seeing how they work for him.

Cruise missiles don't shore up his weakness. I thought about it as well, but I think you have to have prockets to discourage the R1.

I love seeing the Inquisitor on the board ... when I'm running Black Market Slicer Tools.

I've been playing Inquisitor consistently for awhile and he's still a solid choice. The key is, that like a lot of Imperial Aces, you now really need to pair him with other ships that have a lot of health (sfs or defenders) so your entire list isn't vulnerable to auto damage. He still brings a toolset that is unique and can deal with some of the top meta ships. I've never had a problem with lists that run BMST or other stress lists because Inq can still have decent action economy.

I don't know, try it out. Seems most Imperial players would rather whine about their place in the meta than try out stuff.

I haven't seen triple Defender on the table once since the nerf even though that build would be great in the current meta.

If you ignore him and let him get behind you, he can be very hard to shake (I speak from experience). However, if you just focus all your guns on him he can pop quite easily.

I agree as Cruise Missiles don't synergise with the Inquisitor pilot talent. They seem more suited to Valen Rudor or the generic TAPs to boost their range 2-3 potential.

He's an excellent flanker for two TIE/SF's, and he helped me win my acrylics this season.

He's a genuine threat to Fen Rau, provided you can keep at range 2-3. Alas, the tendency for people to put Asaj next to Fen neutralises this, as her stress dealing is killer.

His damage is consistent, especially if you have 2 PS9's hitting first to strip tokens. Overall, a solid ship, but you have to be very careful with him.

I have the feeling that Nym will be a hard counter though :(

Speaking as a primarily Imperial player I have no problem with where we are right now. People seem to underestimate an Imperial list, especially one with elements that are not seen as popular. I do however think that we have better tools available that the Inquisitor. That's not to say that he can't be effective, but do you want effective or top of the food chain?

Definitely want to put some Cruise Missiles on some V1s.

Inquisitor is the best ace arc dodger for imps right now. His two shields protect from crits, he is PS8 to counter Dash, his hard 1s allow him to stay in the rocks for extra defense against torp boats/HLC (4 greens, evade, focus autothrusters, a plasma wont wont touch him) He is NOT a jouster anymore since Palp is a no-go nowadays. Fly him like his ship is made of glass. He is actually awesome vs Fenn Rau because Fenn does not get range bonus or autothrusters against Inquisitors shots. One of the few primary weapons in the game that can hurt fenn from range 3. Then, instead of jousting Fenn, use your boost/broll (TAPs are best blockers in the game) to block Fenn, or jet away and make another pass. Linked Fenn gets only 1 reposition move, so plan accordingly.

I took Backdraft/Vessery/Inq to store champs and went 4-1. Didnt lose Inquisitor the entire day, while beating OldManFenn, Dash/Poe, Vader/QD/BD, Kanan with ABT/ACC Corrector.

Fly him head on into a 4 rebel list, or try and joust Fenn, then yeah, he is gonna blow up fast.

A VI Inquisitor list with Cruise Missiles (included VI Vader and VI Quickdraw both with cruise missiles) just got 2d in our 28 person store championships.

Inq is still very solid.

PTL, Title, AT and Prockets is such a solid build....sooo many tokens!

Still has weaknesses of all low health aces (bombs, auto damage... etc), but a good ship.

Still a great ship.

As well as wampa.

As for autothrusters well not really that much. I mean he is the best counter to fearlessness since he gets the range 1 bonus and the other won't if outside of range 1. But then again autothrusters is no different on him than on any other ship with boost.

So it comes down to the range bonus. Well what does range 1 give him besides an extra dice? He can't snap shot at any range. most of the range 1 bonus stuff is with the Protectorate and it doesn't cross over to the Imperial side.
