Miranda Nym - Staying Alive?

Hey everyone,

I've seen suggestions of Nym/Miranda lists, and have one that I like. 2 TLTs, the generator, an alpha strike, and advanced slamming bombs makes for one hell of a loadout. But will it die too quickly? Even with Miranda's regen, its still only 19 total HP hidden behind 1 agility each. Would it actually have the potential to kill the opponent fast enough?

Mine has thus far, although not with 2 TLTs. I've gotten Nym killed a couple times and had Miranda in danger, but they're a potent combo which no one really wants to get close to. They could suffer against high PS alpha, though...gotta fly well to avoid it.

flew it twice tonight. first game came down to 1hp each and I went for the 4 dice TLT with Miranda trying to get that last damage through and blanked hard (both times with target lock!) and then rolled blank on the evades @ R3 and guessed 1 with C3PO.... so I died.

Second game I served Miranda up on a silver platter.

C3PO on Miranda and Sabine on Nym I think is the way to crew it to keep them going longer.... but they both require pretty decent flying. The list I had out tonight was:

Having Nym hold bombs is actually very cool and caused some neat choke points (especially with the Proton Bombs). Deadeye with Homing Missiles was okay... but I think there are better options there for sure. There is a lot of tweaks to be done for sure... I was thinking of running it like this next time:

Ion canon on Nym for more control, and moving Plasma's off Miranda to give Nym and Action bomb gives more options and cloggs up the board a bit nicer. The Cruise Missile maybe a good option, but I'm not sold on that yet when it comes to my play style. I really think that Ion will be a nice effect as I can really start trapping my opponent if I can disable the dials on them.

Overall... I'm not a strong bomber player, it's not exactly my bag... I think these two ships are cool when flown correctly and there is some awesome synergy here... I'm just not 100% sure I'm liking it personally. A lot of people were flying H6's tonight, and all of us were very "meh" about it in practice.

Huh...Nym was pretty scary for our group. I've lost one game out of 6 or 7 when using him with this list being below.

I agree about the Ion Cannon Turret, though. I think I'm going to make the following changes for a Store Championship today. I'm going to miss Advanced Sensors, but this will pack more of an offensive punch and grant about the same level of area denial.
