Either a 180 forward arc, or a 'side/rear' arc imo would be ok...

Okay, while I understand you're playing mostly 1.0 HotAC right now, the thread you just necroed is about 2 years old and only pertinent to 1.0. FFG isn't supporting 1.0 anymore so house rule whatever you want, just please stop necroing previous edition threads.
