Idea for another campaign box

I was thinking, someone a while ago mentioned putting titles/ship variants into the next campaign expansion (if we do indeed get one). I was also thinking it might be cool to have alternative commanders, like a Leia or Tarkin with a different ability, perhaps a different name as well, as a way to revise earlier commanders that aren't used as much? I think Tagge could use some love as well. To me, Leia and Tarkin feel like they are the most overcosted for what their ability does, but I am sure there are others that could use an alternate version.

I agree with the basic idea, but let's wait on Leia before we declare her over costed. Vader is 36 and he's not over costed, while Leia let's your engineering 2 ships get really good at it if needed, squad pushers for days, and crazy movement shenanigans with nav teams.

Otherwise I'm down with more titles and a new Tarkin, yeah.

Throw in a reworded Rieekan and Rhymer (and all of the errated cards) and I'm in on whatever you suggest.

Someone hasn't played a lot of Leia yet.....

I don't think Leia is over costed with a nav command she is ozzle he is 20 points, but she goes beyond that she gives all ships that resolve a Squadron command one more Squadron GR-75 with expanded hangers yes please pocket carrier. The engineering makes all ships a little more durable, and I was surprised and how effective the concentrate fire command with her was on small ships. I do think she wants to be in a small ships swarm list, but I do think she has a home there especially with your TRC90s not being quite as powerful you can use dual turbo laser turrets on one arch then use the layers con fire reroll on the other or your TRC on one shot and reroll on the other I feel like she is quite good and very flexible. I'm not opposed to the others I definitely think tagge needs another look.

Mmmm...a campaign box with upgrades, a new system to conquer, and simple ground assault rules. Cards that represent ground forces and defenses, paid for with resource points.

Yeah...that's the dream.

Why not just make new admirals? I have never been a fan of the idea of Leia v2.0. Keep her as-is, recost or errata as needed to get her to be a competitive upgrade if you want and make a new character so there's no confusion.

I would like for the next campaign map to be able to be connected to the current map via the hyperlanes until we have a huge map of the whole Star Wars system.

I hear you guys. We proxied her in CC and a ton of other games, and while she definitely has benefits, it's hard for me to agree that she's worth 38 points. Her ability is comparable to Tarkin, only a lot less flexible since you can't use any other tokens. We don't need to get bogged down into a debate, and I'd loved to be proven wrong, but nothing about her ability screams, "Man, she really needs to be as expensive as Ackbar." And yeah, Tarkin is 38 too, but he's also overcosted IMO. Anyway, just a thought.

I'd much prefer a branching-story campaign from both the Rebel & Imperial viewpoints. The campaign could utilize the various objectives as missions that each side must attack/defend against. This would be in-line with how Imperial Assault does their campaign missions.

Leia loves small ships. I played a fleet with 6 ships twice the other day and had some pretty good results. Now I didn't play against any large ships which is partly why I was so successful. Hammerheads are like mini gladiators imo.

A campaign with a more controlled ressource system would be nice. I enjoyed the veterancy. But every time one side gained ressources way faster than the other and people stopped playing.

Yeah, like I said, I don't want to get dragged into a debate, and I am aware she likes small ships that don't really get to bank multiple tokens, but 38 points is a ton of points for sweet, I get a token. Things that seem to like her are:

Pelta with EF so carriers can change speed while super squadroning

Liberty Title

Salvation

Hammerheads/CR90s

Nav Teams

The 6 point dial officers

Engineering Team

Among others. I am not saying her ability is bad it's just not worth 38 points, my opinion, of course.

I did feel that FFG did a great job of keeping it so once it felt like one side was snowballing ahead, the campaign ended. You really have to balance out the skill levels on each side. Like 2 new guys that want to fly rebels? Your most experienced player should probably be on that team too.

Darth Vader

General Tagge

Garm Bel Iblis

General Cracken

General Madine

I would then add a new flagship title for each commander, especially since Tagge and Cracken can no longer be placed on their own ships.

I'd suggest new titles be added for the VSD, ISD, Interdictor, Assault Frigate, MC-80-L, and MC-80-H.

I think a "Generals of the Rebellion/Admirals of the Galactic Empire" pack would be an awesome idea, coming with an alternate new admiral and their signature flagships title in a pack. It would be incredibly fitting to release it ASAP to capitolize on the flotilla errata, make it seem like they were actually tilting some design features into forcing you to make your flagship a big ship instead of just an oopsie daisy.

a Lothal campaign with the chance to capture a Quasar Fire over Ryloth.

a Scarif campaign which introduces planetary shield and infantry combat ( along with a tie in for X wing. yes I know i'm dreaming)

a Hoth Campaign with planetary blockade, planetary ion cannons, and a ground base assault which could coincide with the Release of The EXECUTOR Star Dreadnought ( if your going to dream, DREAM HUGE!).

oh man, I didn't event think of Lothal or Scarif! Those would be awesome.

Co-op campaign against powerful fleets with simplified (very) AI. Hit and run rebels, for example

A campaign box would be a great way to bring in some more title cards etc. Obvious ones being Darth Vaders death squadron, or Thrawns set of ISDs.

The sky is the limit really.

I could definitely see the attraction of a points break for Tarkin and Leia. Imperials especially now have a bunch of cheap and effective commanders.

Like the 7 point token officers (Raymus, Wulf, Aresko) extra tokens are good, but can be provided in other ways, so you don't see people valuing them a great deal.

Now I am an Empire player but I have never used General Tagge, but why can they not be on there own ships anymore? Maybe I am missing something but looking them up it sounds like the only ship that General Tagge severed on the Death Star, and Cracken was a gunner on the Millennium Falcon, or am I missing something? Neither of the ships could they be on at any point, we do not have the Death Star (yet :) ), and they have not given us the ability to add crew to any small craft.

I would love to see more titles for ships.

Both commanders came with the Flotillas. Commanders can no longer be placed on Flotillas. So neither commander can be placed on the ships they came with.

Not really an issue though...

More titles for existing ships

Lando in Millinium Falcon sqd.

More Rebel Fleet commanders that are non-human (Aliens :P )

Semi hard to take down unique sqds. with only one defence token.
