looks like nope to both questions

So far they seem to be the Martell of L5R.
Pacifism = Imprisoned
Display of Power = Vengeance for Elia

Well they are Phoenix. If the bushing usually have an army I feel safe assuming that the Phoenix have a few Shugenja hanging around staying out of the fight. In fact I assume most clans have a couple Shugenja around.
Didn't get a chance to see the live stream Is there any link to the video or did you have to watch live?

I think that's because it already has an influence cost of 3 (same with Know the World). I bet they wanted to make sure that if you went as far as to spend 3 Influence to include a single card, you should at least be able to actually play it reliably.
A recording is on the. FFG facebook page

I'm going to guess that spell actions and events require a shugenja in play on your side somewhere.
Is it just me, or does Charge make keeping the Lion Champ in your deck worth it? You are begging your opponent to do a military attack, and Kami help him if I win that conflict. Plus my Spiritcaller is going to be busy for the rest of the game.

Charge makes high cost characters so much more valuable in general.

Bid one and drop a Good Omen on him afterwards. Boo. Yah.

True, I was thinking specifically the Lion Champ because there was so much shade being thrown at him.
Ooh, I like those playmats!

I believe they stated this was not the case when they released Know the World.
don't have confirmation of that, however.

We don't have confirmation, but no traits (The bold italic'd words) have mechanical meaning that we know of. The ones that do are in the main body of text (Sincerity, Covert, etc). Spell has been a trait.
Watching this video, and I do like that it's a real-ish game with a moderator asking questions that people who'd stumble upon it for the first time might ask. And asking after a bit of dead air about what decision is being thought over helps a lot as well.
You forgot to mention the sweet playmats we got to see that will be for sale later this year too.
Want that sexy Crab playmat!! ![]()

I'm also only half way through!
I also like that the designers are just as absent minded as players, forgetting that they used an ability already.

Current "meta" being at best a few dozen people playing on online simulators with within their own small pool with incomplete rules and card set? Yeah, funny how that works out.

They won't. Both spell and shugenja are traits, and traits have no innate rules text in LCGs.
Does anyone else feel like they have been sold on this game and FFG just needs to quit their sales pitch and give it to us already? ![]()

I'd say yes...
If they had give a pony sale pitch by now.

It's actually really cool getting to see how the game dynamics change as new cards are added. I've been playing games since the Lion were spoiled and I'm really enjoying this constant shift in our - admiteddly - small and incomplete meta.
I'm having some issues with the embedded video player. Is there any chance we might get a youtube mirror or something later? It won't play for me, though the video is loading and as I skip around it'll change whatever is frozen on the screen.
