Aye, I thought I could imagine, but I've been waking up in cold sweats or completely depressed at the prospect of dealing with work. I have to double down on my commitments for the next 3 weeks to ensure I get a good score for my report.

Definitely take a RL first approach.

@RichardbuxtonI'm perfectly fine with sitting out the next round as @LordBritishwas my opponent. Also I'm a complete no lifer and I'm on holiday till Sunday so if you need me to I'll pull double duty in heat 3 and 5 to make up. (Taking exp for only one match each naturally)

Ideally a fill in player would be good, an even number of PC's is best. Let me crunch some numbers and see if I can get a solution.

I've got a Gunslinger character and a Soresu Defender that are both pretty close to ready if you need them. I can play them or hand them off to other people. Just need like 20 minutes at my computer later tonight to polish them up!

As for the tournament, we could just give a bye to those slated to go up against Tanson, as @Nightone suggested. If not that, then maybe we should recruit someone to portray Tanson in those duels. I'd be hesitant to introduce a brand-new competitor at this point.

But giving byes adds complications. What do the ppl get for exp? do we screw them out of 5 extra they could have gotten? does the bye count towards a win? Could someone tie up for eventual winner even having done less matches? It's a whole can of worms.

I would say make them winner by default, so they gain one League Point and 5 XP.

Thats the way it would be handled in most RL tournament if a participant is droping out of which ever reason.

That way OMEGA, ARISSA and CHEVIL BAT would gain one winning point and 5 XP for theire respective heats.

And then who ever would face him in the eleminations (if he would be counted in, I don't know how RichardBuxton had plant that in relation to the HEAT-Winning-Points) would get a free pass and after that Tanso would be eleminated.

Or:
one of us plays Tanson those are the two possibilities.

But since @Richardbuxton is the tournament leader he has to decide which solution we should use.

Wait, has Tanson Stryder been in any combats at all so far? From the first page of the thread, it looks like he hasn't. If that's the case, we could also just recruit a new player entirely, as this wouldn't monkey up the rankings at all. Or is the bracket just not updated yet?

Yes, he was. He beat Richard's character in Arena C first round.

He was also beaten by The Bulk in arena A in round 2.

My preference is to keep the character going through the tournament either with a new player or with some of us playing him.

Removing him now would be fine if we where having a fight against everyone before the finals, but we are not.

I like to exclude the character from the finals though, by doing so the top placed character gets a free pass in the first elimination round, everyone else dukes it out as was planed.

So, any lurkers on this thread want to join the chaos?

I imagine revenge would be a huge motivating factor. He joined the game because his brother romanticised it in the novels sent back to his family, so I imagine he would be actively hunting anyone who came in contact with Bulk or his brother; the former for crippling him and the latter for making this life seem easy!

Given that Tobin is being actively hunted by a Hutt clan (for robbing their leader's vault, and later linked to their bosses murder) Black Sun (for having a hand in the death of their leader, impersonating a Vigo.) and the Zygerian Empire (for killing their king, and filming their current king singing naked in the shower "I just can't wait to be king) that's a pretty large list of people to interrogate. Just as well he seems to die every month or so. It's a long running joke that "Tobin's dead? Just give it a couple of months and something valuable to steal, it's just a phase he's going through that he'll just sleep off." That and plenty of people to interrogate. XD
