Quickdraw, Omega Leader, and uppsilon escort!

By IgotTargetlocked, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey Folks,

been flying allot of Rac with Quickdraw lateley. i wanted to ad another ace , so i dropped Rac for an uppsilon instead

heres the list

Quickdraw, Adaptability +1 ,Fire-Control System, Lightweight frame, Special ops training and Pattern analyzer ( 35 Points)

Omega Leader, Juke, Comm Relay ( 26 Points)

Starkiller Base Pilot, Fire-Control system, Kylo Ren, Kylo rens Shuttel , Pattern analyzer. (39)

To a total of 100

So why the uppsilon, Well, the dial is okay i guess, and it has Cordinate, So when the timing is good, Il do a Stop, the cordinate a barrelroll or a focus to who needs it. Then take the stress.

Or if i havent done it allredy, give some hard hitting ship a blinded with kylo,. Do you think that the Rac with Eu, Kylo, Gunner, Rebel captive, is better? vs the starkiller and omega leader?

And another thing i been thinking about, is droping adapt on Quickdraw, givning her the A score to settel ept. for those nice crits

What do you think?

Former UK Champ Jesper Hills nearly took this combination of ships to Worlds. His shuttle was Kylo Ren with ASTS, Collision Detector, Title, I believe.

I like ASTS on quickdraw. It works with the Kylo very nicely, and QD's ability for multiple attacks gives you a great chance early in the game. It takes very skillful piloting of the shuttle to get a decent use out of it with EU thou.

How much practice have you had with it?

ive flown the shuttel before, but in a 2 ship build

Im going to practice allot with this list before i take it to a event. But i have faith in it. Chaning to ASTS on qd. perhaps i should remove pattern Analyzer so i can take Major Stridan instead, 1 ps better then the ps3 jumps, Jess pawa, and the new ps 3 scurg. And beeing abel to cordinate range 3 is awsome

Some thoughts here:
FCS - With this dial, you're not very often going to be able to keep the same ship in arc. Unless you're letting other ships use your TLs, say via Targeting Synchronizer, I wouldn't waste these points. Bonus, you can put Collision Detector, which is very useful in making sure your shuttle can turn (though it will still suck at that).

Kylo Ren - Ok, but you are definitely going to want A Score to Settle on Quickdraw, as you don't really have any other way to get crits, and even that isn't a good one. Relying on red dice to give you exactly what you need is a recipe for failure, unfortunately. I fly RAC & ASTS Quickdraw, and I STILL don't manage crits EVERY round.

Title - I don't think this is worth the points. A single stress isn't a big deal to most ships, you have issues with range control to keep it active, and you could use the points elsewhere. I've seen this tested in a couple of lists, and never seen it been particularly useful.

PA - The use is pretty clear, and it will definitely trigger most games, but I'm not sure just how often it will matter. It's a decent little bonus with Collision Detector, I suppose, but I'd probably try to put the points somewhere that is going to be more useful in the long run (this is very much a YMMV opinion, though).

Even dropping just FCS and title, you get four points to play with. Cruise Missile on Quickdraw is an interesting option. Upgrading to something other than Omega Leader could work (though I love OL -- maybe if you dropped PA as well, you could start looking at the Inquisitor or something along those lines).

I tried something similar last night and the upsilon is just a big fat cow. The minute he's out of arc it's so hard to get him back and able to do anything

QD needs a Cruise Missile!

The shuttle needs EU to really make it the turn around easier.

I've ran something similar lately that has proven to be pretty brutal:

Quickdraw: ASTS, FCS, LWF, Pattern

Omega Leader: Juke, Comm

Stridayn: Kylo, title, Intel Agent, Baffle

The Oopsie dial ain't so bad as long as you don't mind baffling away the stress to get your Kylo/Coordinat/Target Lock off. With Intel, Kylo, the title, range 3 coordinate, and a 4 dice gun it is a nasty ship; ignore it at your own peril.

The game plan is simple, use kylo and Quickdraw to blind/kill things and get a numbers advantage leading to a 1v1 between O-Leader and a suitable, non-regen target.

This sounds pretty sweet, have you gotta many games in with it?

Just three at casual nights. We have a lot of newer players and I don't play anything really mean against them unless they specifically ask for tournament practice. The three matches I had with it were against other competitive players.

Not sure how it will interact with the latest wave, but landing a blinded pilot on something is always helpful
