Hammerhead are growing on me.

So I got my new wave 6 ships and had my brother in law come over and I set up a small 310 point game (I know, 310??) I wanted to experiment with a few of the new upgrades and I needed a few more points to make it happen.

Rebels:

two Hammerhead scout corvettes with slaved turrets and task force organa. One had general Madine.

The other two were Hammerhead torpedo corvettes with external racks and task organa.

I also had Hera, shara, Tycho, green squadron, Gold squadron, and an xwing squadron.

Empire:

Victory II with Sloane, disposable capacitors, boarding engineers, minister tua and reinforced blast doors.

Quasar fire II with boosted comms and squall.

Also Stele, Tempest, rhymer, 2 tie fighters, howlrunner, a tie advanced and soontir.

I did not play with an objective for this game.

Round 1: Empire choose second player. Rebels lead with the scout that did not have my commander at speed 3. Squall activated, advanced the three bomber squadrons and then activated them, sent them into the hammerhead and did 5 damage, 3 on shield and 2 damage cards. Move squall. I activated a torpedo with squad command and send shara in to attack stele (avoiding tempest). 2 damage. VSD activated nothing interesting. Two other Hammerheads activated also nothing interesting. Fighters mostly create a ball around the 3 imperial bombers except the 3 rebel bombers.

round 2: rebels activate my command hammerhead scout to avoid moving into attack range first. Squall send 4 fighters at my fighters 2 damage to shara and lost scatter. Suall move into close range or my 2 torpedo Hammerheads ?. Not gonna lie. I got excited. Then rebels rolled 3 hit crit combos 1 blank red and 2 crit blue. Used task force to reroll red and got an accuracy (used for brace) squall took 4 damage on shields and 4 damage cards, crit was add 1 damage so 5 total! VSD activated nothing happened. Second torpedo hammerhead didn't need external racks. Attacked and destroyed squall. Last hammerhead scout attacked fighters and then moved near tempest. Hammerhead took one damage from tempest when squall activated him.

The rest was HH scout landed on station and then in round 5 or 6 died anyway at the hands of rymer and tempest. VSD took and gave plenty of damage. Used RBDs to make the rebs work for it. one HH torpedo corvettes took 3 damage cards in round 3 or 4, flipped with boarding engineers and took 2 more by round 6. I used my slaved turrets well but never got to use my second external racks. VSD went down at the hands of Tycho in round 6.

As a side note, I found task force organa didn't helpe as much as it could have as my rolls were good (only had to rereoll 1 die any given time) and my HHs didn't stay as close as I wanted them.

I'm very curious as to why you played with only 310 points?

Wanted it make the game a little fast and mostly use just the new ships.
