Twin Troopers: Darth Vader and Driven by Hatred

i played with him in my group since the spoiled article and, in my experience, he is nice with the upgrade. I had an anecdote in wich driven by hatred vader kills luke in one round, dealing 10 damage, and at the end of round another 7 damage.

He still suffer a bit against hunters, but i can tell around 80% times he worth his value.

Great article! My current list for Vader is a combination of two of yours:

Vader, Palp, eJet, Terro (or a second eJet), officer, Unshakable, Targeting Computer, and Zillo.

Lol, I don't think it will do very well. Five activations for six or seven figures is not very good. I might drop Unshakable and Targetingg Computer for a second officer, but we'll just have to see.

But regardless, it will take both the Hate-Driven Vader and Sidious to tempt me to the dark side ?

Hey nice writeup.

What do you think about Vaders CC? Getting extra actions is nice, but the cost is pretty high with 3 and you need to defeat units. Without any other effects you could defeat one with an attack and another one by force choke. The only thing you'll get out off this is one or two move actions. Imo it's not as game changing as SOS or blaze of glory.

Defintely agree here. For three cost it's pretty pricey. I could see using it on a mega turn where you could throw in Force lightning and Lure of the Dark Side as well but that's nine points worth of cards you'd need to have in your hand to pull it off.

I also think tho keeping Emp by him and getting that free attack makes him easily worth the points.

With 4 move I think it's going to be hard to garuntee he has someone to attack on Palpatines turn. I honestly think BT and Terro will synergize better with Palp than Vader will.

Maybe because he senses Vader will turn on him in the end :-)

Hey! It depends what I'm going for. When I first put Vader on the table, I'll try to pull off a stupid good set of Command card drops using Vader's CC to generate some actions. If I was bringing him to a tournament, I don't think I'd bring his Command card at all, and maybe not even bring any force user cards. I will probably lean towards a lot of utility - Command cards that give movement, surges, extra defense dice, ect. I agree 100% that it's nowhere near as good as SOS or Blaze.

A powerful force user card is needed with HoE. If we get something dark side force power that allows you more attacks in your activation for sure vader's command card will brigth again. Ok, perhaps adding this two would around 6 cost but it's ok for a round in witch vader could make 2 or more attack with a combo + his end round.

I hope they do something like that, and another rebel force user card with same power.

I didn't. But with your opponent already positioning to avoid an end of round attack from Vader(better to get hit with force choke IMO) I just think it's not something you'll get off very often with Palpatine. I'd love to be proved wrong though when they come out. The other issue is the sheer number of points for just two figures.

True, but youre thinking end of round. Im thinking beginning of next round.

End of previous round, move Vader and attack with free attack. Beginning of next round (you go first), activate Emperor and have Vader go to town. Major character dead and you havent even activated Vader :-)
