Sorry I know the rules explain about adding a hero/figure to my unit of Spearmen for example however if I am asking here is maybe because the rules are not clear to me so please do not ask me to read the rules ok?

So I have added "ANKAUR MARO" to my Reanimates unit and my question is: shall I consider his number of points in the total of my army or shall I just get his "upgrade" card and add his figure + upgrade card to my reanimates? I think that his points (listed in his card) is only if he is playing as a figure alone not added to the Reanimates unit but just want to double check I understood correctly.

You understood correctly. If you put him in a unit, you only pay the price for the upgrade card. If you run him separately, as his own unit, you pay the cost on the unit card.
