Heroes expansion, two players one type of hero

By rpmostyn, in Battlelore

Just bought the Heroes expansion, discovering there are five classes w. respective banners.

So what happens if both players want the same commander?

Admittedly, this may be a simpleminded question, but does each side have to use a different class of commander? For example, I've got the rogue this game and you've got the wizard? Or do you have to pretend the wizard figure and banner represent the second rogue?

The rules are not clear on this subject, suggesting it doesn't matter and FF just wanted to save money on the figures and banners.

Clarification please.

We're about to launch into this expansion. It seems a rich one and I'm looking forward to it...

Thanks, all.

The heroes expansion is taking you down teh path of having your own miniature that you grow and develop like an RPG character. So the though is that you won't be randomly selecting them at the start of each game. Instead, you pick one, and you develop him over the long haul.

So if you both want the same character class, i guess they want you to go buy a 2nd set of heroes. Or use a stand in figure, like you suggested. As far as who gets to decide who gets first crack if you are sticking with one set, the choice typically goes to the owner of the set. But you could just devise your own rules as well.
